Let’s face it: the cap options for the winter are endless. We happen to love the cable knits more than most, but Esemplare’s simple Cooper cap, while not our preferred pattern is a drop dead simple wool cap in grey. The Bartam on the otherhand hits the nail on the cable knit’s head. It is a bit more extended in the length than the Cooper, so choose wisely. Either way, you cannot go wrong with the quality and build from Esemplare. Buy them online.

Following up on our Esemplare preview from Pitti, we bring a fuller look at their Spring/Summer 2012 offering. The focus is on high-tech jackets and parkas – many of which are made from very lightweight materials that resist your desire to keep the lines clean. Fabric on their George, Miles, and Cleford jackets are crinkled in a manner that keep the look unique while allowing you to pack and stow them without the worry of wrinkles. Italy’s Esemplare continues to push their fine collection of outerwear for Autumn/Winter 2011. The collection is a large one so we’ll look at the knits for a while. 100% merino and lana merino extrafine wool is used throughout the collection on cardigans and beyond. Above we show the wool hooded cardigan with a detachable hand quilted vest. We imagine this garment will be as warm as it looks. Much more to see from Esemplare in our gallery.

The season for shawl knits is creeping up on us. For many the acceptable face of the cardigan there’s just something special about having an ear warming collar to pull up on a cold day. This navy Giacca knit from Esemplare is produced in Italy from Botto Poala wool. The ribbed cuffs and hem are a nice touch as is the double zip. More over at Peggs and Son. -ld

The Colorado jacket from Italy’s Esemplare mainline collection is a double-breasted gem with dyed wool treated by a frosted process on the exterior that houses a removable quilted waistcoat on the interior. A very strong look in a classic form. Available this Autumn 2011.

Italy’s Esemplare showcases their Spring/Summer 2012 collection at this summer’s Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy. The collection, which uses new technical fabrics across various outerwear silhouettes (as seen in our gallery) also mixes in some classic looks, including the toggle coat shown above. They’re more technical than a contract lawyer’s personal pre-nup agreement. Overall the Esemplare looks are forward thinking technical takes on outerwear that warrants a deserving consideration.

Esemplare, one of our favorite lines of the moment, return with their take on Spring/Summer 2011. The Italian line continues to work their passion for garment making. “The New Esemplare Collection is an echoes among the expression of creative freedom, deep research and attention to details, which are the key concepts of Italian manufacture… The main item of this collection is living in freedom in harmony with our environment, using natural fibres such as cotton and linen, ecological products and treatments, but also technical materials in order to guarantee the maximum comfort through characteristics as breath-ability and waterproofing.” Looking forward Esemplare being stocked in the USA at some point, please.
