Industry of All Nations Espadrilles

Here are some more contenders in our ongoing search for summer shoes that don’t beg socks: no-frills espadrilles from Industry of All Nations. Sticking to the brand’s mission of global sustainability, the shoes are made in Argentina “by the original Alpargatas factory who have been making them for the past 100 years.” These new additions to their espadrille line-up come in denim and white and will biodegrade when they become too stinky to wear in public. Available now online.

n.d.c. theo espadrille 1 n.d.c. Theo Tasseled Espadrilles
We recall a singular slip-on espadrille from n.d.c. dropping this time last year. Here is another. Very unique indeed, with that stitched toe and those modest leather tassels. The weathered suede is another nice touch, as are the stitched leather soles with “anti-slip engraving.” Lots of good ideas working well together here. Por Vocacao has them.

Deluxe (Japan) Montauk Laceless Espadrille Shoes

deluxe japan montauk espadrille shoes 1 Deluxe (Japan) Montauk Laceless Espadrille Shoes

Japan’s Deluxe line delivers a strong series of espadrille inspired shoes under the Montauk name. The colorways on these walkers are excellent. A canvas upper on all the models are dyed very nicely with red and black coming out very rich in photography; we hope the same is true for the real thing. Really well done with the laceless look. May be a difficult to find outside of Japan, but keep looking.

Many more detailed looks at the Deluxe Japan Montauk shoes on the following page.

Rivieras Lord Zelco Mesh-Woven Espadrilles

Back when we first previewed the Rivieras mesh-woven espadrilles for SS2012, we appreciated the unintentional nod to the HTM series of Nike Wovens (which themselves are about to get the reissue treatment). We still have that feeling today. The look is one that takes the espadrille – a favorite on the Italian Riviera – to a new modern place that works in all conditions. One of the better espadrille looks on the market today. Need Supply has them for a hundo.

nonnative Spring/Summer 2012 Footwear

Nonnative Spring Summer 2012 Footwear Collection 08 540x388 nonnative Spring/Summer 2012 Footwear

nonnative offers some interesting footwear for Spring/Summer. Shoe Buff tells us “The brand brings ten new models in which six of them come with a Gore-Tex interior in collaboration with Regal ; Dweller Shoes Wing-Tip, Deck Shoe, Loafer, Plain Toe and Cap Toe.”

The more beach friendly espadrilles might win round those who still find this particular style of shoe objectionable, the slightly wider fit make them appear more moccasin like, espcially invarious shades of suede. A nice selection ranging from smart to run-around.

rivieras espadrilles shoes 14 Rivieras Espadrilles for 2012

A new year and a new range of espadrilles from Rivieras who have done a great jon of re-imagining that all-around leisure shoe of the shores. For 2012, the Rivieras lines add a variety of new textiles including suede leathers on the espadrille upper, denim (which works well without going over the top) and a model that reminds of of the great Nike HTM wovens of years past. Well worth exploring. We showcase a handful of our favorites.
