Handpresso Auto – An Espresso Maker for the Roadies

Handpresso Auto - An Espresso Maker for the Roadies

At $198, the Handpresso Auto is a well priced portable travel espresso maker. We’re fans of the super-automatics but we understand that some spend a good portion of the morning inside the boundaries of a vehicle. Handpresso uses the 12-volt power lighter outlet to heat around 1.8 oz of water. In less than two minutes the Handpresso brews your espresso. The device itself looks like a thermos and sits nicely in a cup holder. While it does look like a device out of an episode of 24, we can only hope that you will not be alone in enjoying a freshly brewed cup of espresso during your commute.

For a version of the Handpresso made for picnics and days out in the sun, be sure to check the Handpresso Outdoor Espresso Set Handpresso Auto An Espresso Maker for the Roadies, which comes inside a nice leather carry case.

DeLonghi kMix Espresso Maker

Making your espresso has never looked better than with the DeLonghi kMix series. Available in eight colors, with most being on the vibrant side, the kMix espresso maker comes in a compact form that will work on any kitchen counter or office coffee room. 15 bar pressure, simple dials and clean design make the work for most. While no where near a true  ”super automatic” espresso unit, the kMix is great for daily pulls and even better as eye candy. A solid gift at around $270 DeLonghi kMix Espresso Maker.

Jura Impressa J5 Wood Espresso Machines

jura impressa espresso wood machines Jura Impressa J5 Wood Espresso Machines

I’ve mentioned my Saeco Espresso Machine many times over on this here site, but the latest from Jura Impressa is really making me think (god forbid) or trading mine in. These wood finished Swiss machines (do the Swiss make good coffee?) are finished beautifully. “The Jura wood editions are variations of their Impressa J5 coffee machine which feature a wood veneer front. The Impressa J5 can make anything from a simple espresso to a highly complex cappuccino with ease, it features variable water temperature, an adjustable coffee spout and a coffee bean monitoring system.” Damn, this is a tough one… (via sybarites)

Brunopasso PD-1 Espresso Machine

Selectism - Brunopasso PD-1 Espresso Machine

The Brunopasso BD-1 is an espresso maker inspired by Ferrari. As Rigel Celeste at Luxist puts it, "I like sports cars, and I LOVE coffee, but I admit I totally don’t get why the two seem to get combined so frequently. First we had this Lamborghini-inspired espresso machine and now, from Brunopasso, the PD-1 machine was created with Italian sports cars in mind. Of course there aren’t many ways a coffee machine can look like a Ferrari, except of course a shiny red paint job (among other choices), automobile-inspired gauges that form a little mini-dashboard, and a lever made of beechwood for pressing the coffee."
