Selectism - swiss-photobook-exhibition-01

Not to leave anyone out, here’s another exhibition that happens to be showing in Europe. Switzerland to be specific.

“The exhibition is based on an extensive research project in which hundreds, in part long-forgotten photobooks were brought together and critically examined. The selection of works resulting from this process forms the backbone of this new history of Swiss photography, which is also being published as a book.”

It looks like it’ll be a great exhibition so it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. (Many Stuff)

Selectism - anonymous-rams4-thumb-800x533-33507

Curated lets us know about this Dieter Rams exhibition:

“If you are aware of Dieter Rams’ 10 principles of good design, then plusminusten in Singapore is a must see if you are in the city. Dubbed “plusminusten,” the exhibition itself embodies Rams’ philosophy on effective design, with a simple presentation that makes its purpose clear.

…Much homage has been paid to the industrial designer’s seminal set of beliefs, such as Bibliotheque’s poster for Vitsoe or Inksie’s essay project, but the Anonymous-led exhibition is the first-ever tribute in Asia. Included in the momentous display are graphic designers Edwin Tan, Abdul Basit Khan, Aen Tan, B.A.L.L.S., Daniel Koh, Hanson Ho Jonathan Yuen, Larry Peh, Roy Poh and Yong, who each offer a distinct perspective on what it means to be true to his craft.”

Post Match Exhibition at Cube Gallery

Manchester’s Cube Gallery is hosting “Post Match,” an exhibition that mixes smoking and footie (soccer to the N.A.’s). Using cigarette packs to fold origami style jerseys, “Post Match” is an unique concept in art, sport, and smoke. Artists, Leo Fitzmaurice, developed the idea after he “noticed a wet cigarette packet on the ground in the shape of a football shirt and ten years later he is still making them and has a vast collection of over 800 hand made shirts from around the world.” Green Soccer Journal has more…
