Factotum Denim Jacket

Selectism - factotum-jean-jacket-01

It’s a mustache kinda morning at SL, so we’re wearing a pair of jeans, a jeans shirt and a jean jacket. We think it makes us look respectable, classy – regal even. The actual effect it has might be different, but we’d prefer to believe the lie. (Mindtrive)

Factotum “Parker Mountain Bore” Jacket

Factotum “Parker Mountain Bore” Jacket

Japanese fashion brand, Factotum releases their October delivery. The “Parker Mountain bore” Jacket is 90% Polyester and 10% Acrylic based. The toggle claps are one the best points of this piece, because they are made to look like the old-style toggles but Factotum designed it with a metal hook and ring combination. The hood and vent side pockets just make the piece complete. This is one of the many pieces that Factotum delivers, the only sad part is that they only made the jackets in 46 and 48 so they were made to fit big for Japanese sizing standard. Available at Greed-Web.

Factotum Jacket

Selectism - factotum-bomber-jacket-01

We don’t know what’s happened to use, but we’ve turned into suckers for any sort of jacket that can do double duty. A reversible jacket? we’re on it. A Jacket with removable arms? we’re on it. A gilet with attachable arms? we’re on it (the last two examples were the same thing, but you get the point).

This Factotum jacket comes with removable arms, fulfilling our removable arm fetish. You should also be glad to know that the company are planning a push overseas soon, so you might actually be able to buy it without a proxy from next season onwards. But for now you’ll be well served keeping that proxy’s email address handy. (Mindtrive)

Factotum Autumn/Winter 2010 Looks

Selectism - Factotum Autumn/Winter 2010 Looks

Despite us not mentioning them that much, we’re quite the fans of Factotum. This runway is a perfect example of why; focusing on the wearable rather than the edgy, Factotum make clothes that are easy to wear (provided you can fit into Japanese sizes) and simply exist to make the wearer look good.  With more leather jackets and parkas than you can shake a stick at, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was influenced by British music (we see a bit of Oasis mixed in Keith Richards). We don’t know of any US or Europe based retailers yet, but this is a brand worth getting your proxy on for.

Factotum Check Coat

selectism - factotum-coat-01

Forgive us for teasing, but here’s another Japanese piece for you. And to make it worse, this one is only sold through stores – which means you’ll have to either know someone in Japan or get your proxy on. As for the coat itself, what more can we say? It’s a great, purdy, medium weight coat for fall and winter and it’s great for a bit of check clashing (which you really should be doing if you’re gonna wear checks this season). (Mindtrive)

Factotum Striped Cardigans

27 August 2009, 13.30 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

selectism - factotum-cardigans

Summer is winding down (in the UK at least) and you know what that means – more knitwear. It’s not like we stopped posting about knitwear all summer (a little sun isn’t gonna stop us from layering) but now we can post it in the knowledge that we’re posting in season stuff now.

We’re somewhat obsessive about our knitwear as they’re perfect layering devices – we like vests, but a cardigan gives off a much more lassez-faire attitude about things. These Factotum cardies work perfectly for a slouchy day and will go with plenty of oufits. In case you’re wondering, we prefer the red. It’s from Japan, so get your proxy on. (Mindtrive)

Factotum Parka

selectism - factotum-jacket-01

We just can’t help ourselves, Japanese fashion sites are our addiction. We find them as irresistible as Rick Ross finds cupcakes (or any food, you don’t get that big being picky). But, chubby rapppers aside, we’ve got a good reason to show this Factotum parka – it looks great. It’s not a deep reason – we’re no scholars here – but a reason nonetheless. Usually we’d say get a proxy, but as the piece looks to have sold out, just admire it from a distance. (Mindtrive)

Factotum Duffle Bags

17 August 2009, 17.30 | Posted in Accessories | 1 comment »

selectism - factotum-duffle-bags

Admitting the addiction is the first step to recovery, so we’re just gonna come out and say it. We’re obsessed with bags. Holdalls, backpacks, totes, even messenger bags – if it’s a bag and it looks purdy, we’ll be featuring it. That’s just how we roll. We really don’t have much to say about these bags – they look purdy so we featured them. It’s not rocket science. You know the drill for Japanese pieces; either get a proxy or book a flight.
