We’ve been getting a little carried away on the sock front of late, we’ll make no apology. This is what happens when Summer says ’see you later’. Still holding out for some cashmere numbers for those luxury feet situations,  in the meantime the reasonably priced Goerke Socks from premium line Mr Bs at Aldo would put a smile on our faces. Fairisle socks are always welcome round these parts. The design team at Mr B’s went all the way to Japan to find machines capable of creating these intricate patterns. It paid off. Time to get your Fairisle on. This most traditional of knits keeps on coming year after year possibly due to the fact that it just looks so damn good. Howlin by Morrison are big fans of this northerly isles most famous offering, this 100% wool scarf with it’s particularly smart colourway is fine example and can be found over Frans Boone with its matching gloves and hat.

Raglan for the heart. YMC delivers some affordable takes on the raglan look. The patter is fairisle and the colors are heavy. While not for all, some of you may prefer this look for the coming colder months. END has them.

It’s turning into scarf weather and we’ve currently got a thing for the fair isle kind. Highland 2000 is finally turning up on British isles via the likes of Superdenim, but this sort of thing will still need you to get all proxylicious. Yeah, we did just say that. (Style Cruise)

Got money? great, you can read on. Everyone else might want to turn away now as this scarf pulls off that annoying trick of being desirable and near unaffordable. While $275 isn’t that much for a coat, it’s asking a lot for a scarf. But if you’ve got the budget this is worth getting the trigger finger out for. (CHCM)

There’s always room for a fairisle knit in our lives, so putting this up should come as no surprise. With just about everyone latching onto this ‘made in (insert worthy country here)’ trend, here’s a piece that’ll give you the mental superiority – some might say smugness – of knowing that your piece has been made in said worthy country (Scotland, in this instance). Cable knits and pretty patterns are the order of knitwear for Farah Vintage this Autumn. They’ve come with a decidedly 80s styling… slightly over-sized heavy weight lambswool cardigans and jumpers. Highlights include “the Coppard”, a chunky cardigan shown above, and “the Wilding” which is a Fairisle knit jumper with snowflake patterns.

Is it silly to be looking at Fair Isle scarves in the midst of August? As we’re doing just that, we’re gonna say no. As the kids probably wouldn’t say, we’re feeling pattern mixing for the winter, so a fair isle scarf is a nice and easy way to get it started. If it was up to us, we’d wear this with either a check/floral patterned shirt, chunky cardigan and a nice worn-in pair of jeans. Not that we’ve thought about this. (Oki-Ni)
