The Un-Traditional Trench

selectism - The Un-Traditional Trench

The trench coat was always perfect for the fall season. Men.Style.com has a nice feature up, presenting the un-traditional trench coats of the season, which means, that the form and silhouette stayed classic, but colors and materials did not. Most of them come in dark colors for a starter, and also materials such as waxed cotton and Gore-Tex found their way into the classic.

Check it out here.

selectism - Lee By Sammler Fall 2008

The collaboration between classic denim brand Lee and Japanese brand Sammler continues this season, as they present capsule collection for Fall 2008. Inspired by classic Lee workwear pieces, the line includes pants, shirts, as well as a couple of jackets.

We love the use of the vintage labels on the collection and also the workwear details, while keeping at the same time a clean and modern look.

Have a more detailed look at the Lee By Sammler Fall 2008 collection after the jump.

J.Lindeberg Fall 2008 Golf Accessories

highsnobiety - J.Lindeberg Fall 2008 Golf Accessories

J. Lindeberg is one of those brands that we always had mixed feelings about. If you ever have the time, make sure to research the designers history and involvement with the success of Diesel, it is very interesting.

A couple of years ago one started seeing these J.Lindeberg belts with big buckles and not necessarily stylish people (and a lot of people) were wearing them at the time and that sort of left a strange after taste. Also we did not really enjoy their Puma collaboration that appeared in the Puma Black stores.

Today we came across their new Fall 2008 Golf Accessories and we have to admit that we like them. The design is clean and overall subtle and it is a worthy update to the otherwise not very exciting golf market in terms of design. Via Openers.

Pierre Hardy Fall 2008 Bags

selectism - Pierre Hardy Fall 2008 Bags

Paris based designer Pierre Hardy is known for his shoes and accessories. This season the designer will introduce mens bags. Here we give you a first look at the "City"bag (left) and the "Sports" bag on the right. Just like expected the bags come in superb quality leathers and even though the design seems to stay simple, we have to say that the bags look different from pretty much everything else we have seen out there. The leather has not been distressed, nevertheless the bags have a somewhat used feel to themselves – clean, but not too clean, which is just perfect. Pics via Honeyee.

highsnobiety - Common Projects Fall 2008 Collection

Common Projects is another brand that we have become big fans of in recent years. It’s probably one of the first brands betting on subtle, quality sneakers and since then we have seen a lot of followers. All their sneakers feature premium leathers and almost no branding. It’s the type of shoe that looks nicer with age.

Blackbird now got their Fall 2008 shipment and offers a large selection of styles. The new Chukka is available in red and grey, and other favorites include the Shell Toe Low, which comes this season in a mix of leather and suede.

John Lobb Everdon

selectism - John Lobb Everdon

Certain brands just never go out of style. John Lobb is one of them. Represented in their own flagship stores, as well as all Hermes stores around the globe, the brand is known for its handmade shoes since many years. It’s actually one of the few brands, where you can say with pride that your father and grandfather wore it already. It’s the kind of shoe that you buy and resole once per year and keep it until it is basically destroyed. One has to love that.

This season John Lobb presents the Everdon as part of its casual line. It comes in this nice navy blue calf skin version with punching details on the vamp. The contrasting white laces look fantastic and give the shoe a dandy look. Perfect with some rolled up chinos or even a light summer suit.

The John Lobb Everdon is available now at John Lobb dealers.
