Our favorite model lays out the new looks for Steven Alan’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. The usual Steven Alan “style” remains. Knit cards, work shirts, and dapper takes on the blazer work well. The wool coat with zip closure and waist pulls looks to be a standout. You can always count on Mr. Alan bring a very wearable collection to the men’s scene.

New Zealand’s Canterbury are world-renowned for their sports apparel, being one of the most recognised names in rugby, yet few would consider their off-field attire as having such international appeal.

A preview of their A/W 11 line has just surfaced, demonstrating the brand’s eagerness to develop their lifestyle range; inspired by a great spectrum of classic rugby shirting from as early as the 1930s through to the late ’80s. AW11 showcases efforts to translate knowledge of their robust, hardwearing sportswear into a credible menswear range, taking careful note of various facets of style that surround the gentleman’s game of rugby. -jr

Carhartt WIP have long been considered as the most progressive arm of the Carhartt brand; known for combining elements of their workwear past with modernist design, thereby producing garments wholly more palatable for a contemporary, urban-ready wardrobe. For AW 11, Carhartt WIP have produced a range that addresses a universal need for basic, hardwearing attire, in-keeping with the brand’s recognised visual style. They’ve focused on streamlining silhouettes, forgoing typically boxy, oversized workwear fits, making their range entirely more accessible.

Carhartt took a rather innovative approach with their campaign images for the collection, collating 5 hours of VHS footage, to then hand pick a selection of stills to represent the collection, as pictured. The brand chose to again align themselves with German artist and photographer Alexander Basile, whom they’ve previously worked with on a variety of projects. Basile shot and directed the footage, which has now been divided into a series of videos currently showcased on the brand’s website. -jr

Following up on our preview of the Cottonopolis collection, here’s a look at various belts that are part of the collection. The standard Bredon belts look good enough but the real strength is in the quick release and Harwington belt that feature unique closures and buckles.
