The big brother line to the very popular Generic Surplus, The Generic Man collection is a directional step upwards in terms of quality and build. The shoes are more trad proper as well. TGM has been around for some time. Well worth a look.

They call it a timeless frame and they may be right. The 1032 is a clean look in three new shades of cola, black, and transparent grey. Wear them in any manner than suits you. Italian acetate is used throughout the vintage oval shape. Small details give the necessary hits to make them strong. Eyegoodies has them.

San Francisco’s Golden Bear works two leather numbers for the Engineered Garments collection. The Bedford jacket comes in goat suede or “elite” cowhide. Both look incredibly soft and supple. Is this the first product(s) from Engineered Garments sourced outside of New York City? Nepenthese has them.

A quick recap on a collection we missed to mention last week. Luckily for us, the boys at Highsnob took caree of it and bring the full lookbook to your attention. The co-brand collection is a reboot of classic materials and patterns from Versace’s last few decades. Materials in the reboot/collaborative collection, at times, look as though they should have been delivered a few years earlier when the fashion hounds were snapping up these look in vintage shops and eBay. We will give them the benefit of a fresh start though. Not for everyone, but for a select view that have personal confidence in their style work it.

After a few preview, we now have a full look at the Outlier Autumn 2011 collection of active day wear for the gents. “In a Technical Nature” is the name given to the collection that mixes a variety of fabrics into their activewear. Wools bonded to fleece and water tight cottons are only the start of what you can expect from the Outlier collection.

A peek at Stockholm label Rose and Born’s Autumn Winter collection. Lots of smart wear for gents, suiting of the Britain via Italy persuasian, cable knits, bowties, checks and pinstripes. A label that deserves more attention, this is ‘classic’ at it’s best.

Dredgers Union is a new Cleveland, OH based in the E 4th St neighborhood which sells goods and apparel for men and women which are domestically (U.S.A.) designed and manufactured. Their in-house line, Dredgers Union Label, features well priced made in the U.S.A. garments that compete with the best of them. They start it out with a small Autumn collection for the gents. From Canada come the Outclass collection. Designed and produced in Toronto by Matteo Sgaramella, the collection has a “youthful, sophisticated urban spirit. The line takes inspiration from historical garments and design practices and merges them with contemporary fits.” There’s more than enough room for a new start-up class. Worth a look.

Following up on our first preview of their Autumn Winter 2011 collection, Commune de Paris provides flat looks at the garments that you should consider for the coming months. Their press release dumps adjectives all over the collection: “Its palette is composed of deep blues, warm browns and, here and there, a few notes of spicy red. Its material is rich but always delicately wrought. The design espouses its subject to perfection, at times light, at others elaborate, but always elegant. But what constantly strikes one is the almost manic care given to every detail, an inherited skill that was thought to be lost.”
