We wonder if proxies work on bonus points, like a Sainsbury’s Nectar card? If they did this would be a great time to take advantage of all those nectar points by ordering a spring-ready blazer. If you’re still searching for the perfect shawl collar cardigan then may we make a suggestion? We think this Dunhill version should be up your alley. We like it because it has all the cosiness of a regular shawl cardigan, with the added (forgive the cliche) twist of the panelled strips on the arms. Classic with a twist and all that jazz. We’re very, very, very tempted to call this a cardiblazer, but we won’t. The exception being that last sentence when we called it just that. Made up buzzwords aside, this a handsome blazer. Some might even call it sprezzy. We’ll stick with calling it handsome though, like most internet based jargon saying sprezzy in public is a little embarrassing. There’s been a full season of floral shirts now and it looks like things have started to calm down on the pattern front, if this shirt is anything to go by. A lot of floral options this year have been on the loud side, so we don’t blame anyone if they wanted to sit back and wait on some more subdued options. Despite the fact that it almost looks tie-dyed, this shirt is still more laid-back than most options earlier this year. Perfect for the trend toe-dipper out there. (Mr Porter)

Translucent? See-through? Diaphanous?* Whatever you want to call it, this is Passarella’s newest jacket. Inspired by the jacket worn by ‘Rep’ in Blade Runner, it’s made in Italy and available for SS12.. It’s exactly the sort of thing you’d wear when you’re in a hellish view of the near future, giving someone the almighty runaround. Or down the pub on a rainy day. One of the two.

Ignore the upcoming H&M range.  Anything made for H&M is similar to Marni’s mainline in looks only. We’re a little confused by the collab as Marni’s calling card is their use of fabrics – this jacket’s made of alpaca and leather – and high quality construction. Anyway, enough scrooge-esque moaning from us, this is a lovely coat.

It’s mid-december, which means it’s now officially ’silly to buy anything for full price when it’ll be going on sale in two weeks’ time. We do admit that the name needs some work. But if you have an especially lovely partner who’s into all this dressing nice lark then this jacket would be a nice little gift.
