When asked for words on the inspiration behind the collection: “A rhythm between space, architecture and sculptures, like the irregular, flowing idiom of the baroque era. Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair have recently posted their Spring Collection on their online shop. One of the few pieces that struck me as an all around, lightweight jacket for the warmer months was their take on a Levi’s “Type 1″ inspired jacket.

The “Seam Jacket” offers a dark grey colorway with a washed out appearance. The awesome details on the jacket range from the sporadic placement of patches and creases to give the piece an aged aesthetic. The jacket offers slit hand pockets as well as a crazy engineered look on the back panel of the piece. Distressed elbows, hips and chest add the weathered appearance. It’s made of 100% cotton and is available at FifthAvenueShoeRepair.

For Autumn 2010 Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair worked with Swedish luggage maker Alstermo Bruk, known for their quality trunk cases.

“Alstermo Bruk is one of Sweden’s oldest companies dating back to 1804, renowned for their classic travel cases, made with high craftsmanship and professionalism. The collaboration with Fifth avenue shoe repair begun with a number of show piece bags, designed exclusively for the fashion show Spring 10.

For Autumn 10 we find two new styles that put the symmetry out of order. The inspiration comes from utility cases such as instrument cases and are based on the idea to deconstruct the outer shape but still keep the classic detailing and finish of Alstermo Bruk. The material is a so called amo-fibre with leather details and an interior wooden frame, lined with a vintage check wool fabric.”

The cases are exclusive to Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair Stores and their online store.
