Sweden’s Filippa K continues to work with crockery maker,Rörstrand. Some of their previous work includes cups and saucers which extend the brand into the housewares world. Now, they’re back together working on a new collection of porcelain bowls. “The idea behind the series was to create a line of versatile bowls for every day life whilst still incorporating strong design elements and whether it be shape, form or patterns. Combining and creating a balance between aesthetics and utility is and has always been close to our hearts, and as such, we are especially  proud of the diversity that the range offers.”

Filippa K’s Storm Jacket offer a high neck closure with rolled and snap shoulders. Note the shoulder blade flap details. It’s a great look in black cotton. Here’s hoping it’s as warm as it looks. Two large front pockets made it roomy for walk away cash and carry. Get it from Reborn.

Filippa K’s Spring/Summer 09 collection shows off its Scandinavian heritage with a surprisingly large amount of knitwear. Clearly designed to brace oneself for a cold summer, it would also make the collection quite useful for those who only have a month or so of actual sweltering heat. Heavy knits aside, There’s a movement towards pale shades as lavenders, blues and beiges dominate the collection. Piping also makes a big impact, with the detailing featuring on blazers and shirts. Friday, late afternoon in New England. The weather is clearly changing with the brisk Canadian winds settling in. Its Fall and Winter will hit any moment now. Its knits time. Blackbird offers a bunch including two from Filippa K. One is a Melange Knit in grey made from 100% wool. A very nice r-neck finish. The second is our favorite. A button up structured knit made from mohair/nylon/wool/angora (33/26/23/18). A great look which will hug well and keep you warm. Both are great in grey.

We take a look at the Filippa K Fall/Winter 2008 collection. The Scandinavian brand has been around for a while now and also this season they keep their clean and refined look, something that they are known for. Also the brand sticks to the grey and black tones in the collection, but introduces some popping colors as well. A bright red, some green and the occasional check make the collection exciting. All in all very solid.
