The Impossible Project, Holden SX-70 Polaroid Kit

impossible project holden sx70 polaroid kit6 The Impossible Project, Holden SX 70 Polaroid Kit

Polaroid film was of course great for road trips and parties, but it was crucial in the bedroom—allowing us instant gratification with our red photography and eliminating the hassle of trying to get quality prints discretely. In 2010, The Impossible Project—staffed by former Polaroid employees—filled the void left behind when their former employer shuttered its doors and windows by offering online access to leftover Polaroid film as well as their own Impossible Instant Films that work in Polaroid cameras. Now TIP has teamed up with Holden, makers of pragmatically tailored outerwear, to bring us Holden-branded Polaroid camera kits.

Primed for August release, the special edition kits will take the form of a handcrafted wooden box bearing a leather camera bag, a pack of limited edition Holden X Impossible PX70 Color Shade film, and a custom Holden Polaroid SX-70 camera. Enthusiasts will remember the SX-70 as the one that folds down to fit in a pocket … or a small nightstand. - jt

A new beautiful flow-through film from Fendi and Maserati. A strikingly fresh feeling to it.

“The documentary of a journey, a quest, a sort of travel diary. It is the discovery of the noblest patrimony that our country conserves, one that has defined our history and excellence: craftsmanship. The handmade. Leading this journey will be Fiammetta Cicogna, who will guide us in her Maserati GranCabrio Fendi down the byways of Italy.”

Creative Review point us towards Eye Sea, retailers of amazing vintage film posters. Their website is heavy with Polish stock, these designs from the 60s and 70s have garnered a cult following over the years. The communist government of the period controlled the film industry and recruited respected artists who were given complete creative freedom and as a consequence chose to ignore the movie’s stars and go mad with their designs. CR blog have a short interview with the guys behind the shop, visit the store for more.

Video | “PARALYMBIC” A Film By Hugh Lippe For Rochambeau Trailer

We bring you this preview of “PARALYMBIC” A Film By Hugh Lippe For Rochambeau. Look for the full film coming September 14.

Some thoughts from Hugh Lippe on the film: “The idea for a ‘fashion film’ had been kicked around in numerous forms. Unfortunately the ever repeating aesthetic of these left everyone in a negative way.  Often these shorts are shot on the sideline or in between during still photo productions, plastered with stacks of effects exhibiting models posing in and out of their own layered reflection while their hair blows in reverse.  It was these particular creations that inspired the desire to take it out and into the real.  It was a run for the opposite end of the spectrum, a desire to stretch out the idea of a moving portrait, create a pulse, tap into the chaos of the city that so many claim connection.”

“Gagosian Gallery is pleased to announce “Lindsay Lohan,” the first short film by artist Richard Phillips.
The 90-second motion portrait of Lindsay Lohan, which Richard Phillips created in collaboration with the actor, draws from the conventions of Phillips’ painting, exploring the legacies of classical portraiture in relation to contemporary culture’s mediated representations.” (V Magazine)
