Filson Green Rucksack

selectism - filson-rucksack-01

This is one of those obvious picks. Not that we’re ‘over’ Filson or anything, but at this point, everyone knows about them. Everyone knows the level of quality in their bags, the rugged finish, the vegetable tanned leather handles and the fact they’re made in the USA – so there’s no need for us to go on about it. What we will say is that the green makes a nice change from the usual navy (we’re sure you’ve got at least one navy bag already) and it costs £215. (Oi Polloi)

Plenty of detailed images after that leap.

Selectism - Filson Goatskin Lined Gloves

Warm those hands with this pair of Filson gloves. “100% goatskin gloves with 100% merino wool lining. These tried and true beauties have been the hard-wearing work gloves of choice for generations of ranch hands, cowboys, and farmers, and for good reason. Their sturdy goatskin exterior can take a beating and looks great with age, and their cozy merino liner keeps hands warm and dry all year long.” (blackbird)

filson field bag 00 Bread & Butter | Filson Field Bags

The airport housing Bread & Butter Berlin is one of the biggest buildings we have walked through. The show has lined up shuttles, free bikes, and golf carts to help transport people across the show floor. Today we rode ourselves over to the Filson booth. Some standouts included these Filson Field Bags. Boxy in shape but built with the durability we’re used to from Filson, they come in a variety of sizes that are made to fit your travel needs.

selectism filson1 The Genuine Article

This article about Filson from the Seattle Times is a bit old, but I discovered it while perusing the web the other day. It gives an in-depth look at the history of the company and why it continues to be so successful today. “Nobody shops at Filson for price; they shop there for quality, and a distinct, low-tech, old-Seattle aesthetic. Wax. Canvas. Wool. Cotton. Leather. Brass. There’s not a scrap of Gore-Tex in sight.” It shows that when you do something authentic and stick with it, trends will come and go, but people will always come back to you. read the full article here.
