Heritage Research, Rivendell Mountain Works Summer 2011 Collection

Heritage Research brings us a first look at their forthcoming “capsule” collection with Rivendell Mountain Works – and it goes well beyond just backpacks. “All Rivendell packs are handmade by Eric Hardee at his workshop in the shadow of Mount Rainier. He has made 5 classic RMW packs in exclusive colourways and fabrics for H R including the legendary Jensen Pack in a smaller citypack pattern. The capsule range also includes specially woven summerweight English wools for shorts, Japanese oxford and chambray cotton and linen shirts and duo tone lightweight dry wax Longline Parkas.” Look for them in select doors shortly.

First Look | Perfecto by Schott N.Y.C. Spring 2011

selectism - first look

While Jason and Jeff are enjoying the spoils of Berlin, I took a quick ride up the New Jersey Turnpike to visit handsome Elizabeth, New Jersey.

The purpose of the trip? To view the Perfecto by Schott N.Y.C. Spring 2011 collection. Literally fresh off the factory floor, the new collection highlights the best of the best from Schott’s 98 year history. New Schott creative directory, Greg Chapman (seen above fitting me in a Mountain Parka), explains, “The Perfecto Brand by Schott NYC is for men with high taste levels who understand the construction, materials and history behind the garments. The pieces are not based on trend; the styles have been passed down in the Schott family for nearly 100 years. These jackets are built to last for decades.”

In the name, Chapman pays homage to Schott’s first ever collection, released in 1928. In that year, Irving Schott took advantage of the growing motorcycle market by introducing a line of leather jackets named for his favorite cigar – the Perfecto. Today the line continues to be manufactured in these United States, with emphasis on local sourcing an added bonus.

The Perfecto by Schott N.Y.C. line will debut officially on July 19, 2010 at (Capsule) NY. A full first look preview and the specs for all four jackets in the collection comes after the jump.

22 January 2010, 12.00 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

In 1966, Bobby Moore hosted the World Cup wearing a red shirt.

The England Away kit, despite many years of hurt, remains legend. Aitor Throup recognizes the heritage of English football and Umbro, and adds his own contemporary twist with a keen sense of human anatomy and ergonomics. As first look at the away kit, we share the above video. Throup discusses his process and the technical aspects that make his a unique take on the classic.

The shirt will officially launch at retail outlets on March 3, 2010.

curated mag - First Look | Timberland Abington Collection Fall/Winter 2010

Live from (capsule) New York, we get a first look at the fall/winter 2010 Abington Collection from Timberland. The collection continues to draw from New England’s rich tradition of field and factory footwear, and adds new influence via the service industries. Dock workers, police men, and posties bring a new look and feel to Abington (particularly in the 5″ Boot, Oxford, and Boat Wedge models). Another new twist is the use of gore-tex liner in the hiker. Leathers are sourced from Horween and suede from Stead.

Full look at the fall/winter 2010 Timberland Abington Collection after the jump.
