A light jacket for Spring/Summer from Folk, complete with some of their trademark touches. “The Rousous jacket is a single breasted casual cotton jacket with a clean cut away collar detail.  The cotton fabric has a crinkle effect, which is created with a chemical finish. The two tone waist draw cords add a flash of colour and are finished at the end with embossed hand dipped pewter ends.” Available in Pewter or ‘Midnite‘.

Folk continue to slow but steady expansion, this time launching a store in Mayfair. This one’s a bit out of nowhere, but it looks cool, keeping up the folk name. It’s mostly menswear but there are womens shoes available in store as well. If you’re about town, then drop in.

As Jay-Z didn’t say, ‘polka dots on my tee got my cipher complete’. On a sidenote, do we remember the ‘grown man style’ phase that consisted of wearing oversized striped shirts from Old Navy? Those were tragic times. That’s got nothing to do with this t-shirt though, which is great. (End)

The Grafters Jacket from Folk is a remake of the your standard chore jacket but with crazy accents. The slanted welt pocket, two front tool pockets are found and a canvas styled waist clasp is added to make for a better fit. A solid piece to be gearing and wrenching but can also be spruced up with a button down and tie.

Where they’re aren’t any essentials in menswear, a gillet is a versatile piece to have in your arsenal. This Folk gillet just fell in at Oi Polloi and it’s a great layer to have when the you don’t want to wear a jacket but still want something on top of a shirt. Or maybe you just want to show off those guns you earned at the gym. Heck, maybe you want to wear this with no shirt underneath, The Style Blogger style. We’re not judging, it’s a free world. The Folk collection is always expanding. This season, they deliver a new take on the cardigan. The “Shawl Collar Sweat Top” is made of 100% cotton and features a contrasting collar and clean ribbing accents. A clean interpretation of the shawl collar sweater.

More Tees? Yeah, more tees. We’re into our plain tees (backbone of a wardrobe, etc etc) but a subtle pattern is still worth a go. This Folk t-shirt is just patterned enough for our tastes, ensuring you can wear it without looking like you’ve stepped off the set of a 70’s gangster film. (Folk)

Folk’s new green overcoat for Spring 2011 is a great look. “The green fabric is sourced in Japan and is a Gabardine construction however the yarn is not waterproofed before weaving as on traditional Burberry fabric so it has a light and airy feel.” The clean brown buttons and leather neck closure (more like shoulder) look great.

Folk’s sent over their Autumn/Winter 2011 lookbook and if you like Folk, you’ll love this. It’s a winter collection, so the usual heavy knits, hard wearing chinos, coats – including their hot white version – and shirts all make an appearance. It’s more about refinement than redefining clothing, so expect a lot of subtle tweaks as opposed to being punched in the face with detail. There’s also some handsome balaclavas in the mix, which should go down well with the stylish scally.
