Selectism - The Generic Man Spring/Summer 2010 Shoes

Ah yes, The Generic Man returns with a collection slightly larger than past collection. The West Coast based brand stands proud with it’s old silhouettes by mixing up the finish and color while retaining some carryover SKU’s including the Savant, Tuxman,  Academy, and the Tuxman, of course. “All generic man footwear is crafted using the finest Italian materials, handmade in Portugal.” Dig through these photo and look for more colors and styles once they land in stores.

Selectism - Openers Favorite Gucci Shoes

I have never been one to proclaim love for the more commercial friendly of luxury brands but when Japan’s Openers shoots phot of their favorite Gucci shoes from their Tokyo flagship, I have to pay attention. The photos – beautiful. The shoes – beautiful. While they may not be my first choice, I am sure there is an individual who will be compelled to hunt these down.

Selectism - Arrow Moccasins in Crepe

With Jason on some form of an English holiday, I have to fill in some space by covering those British shops and brands dropping goods (believe it or not) during this holiday week. Check these Arrow Moccasin in Crepe. Oi Polloi has them. One recommendation, move on them quick because Winter 2010 is almost here and these may not serve you during the cold months. They’re made in the USA. Take that England.

Selectism - Dr. Martens' Pop-Up By Campaign

FRAME has a great piece up discussing the first pop-up shop build out by Dr. Martens in London. ”Gypframe shelving, industrial PVC curtains, construction-site lighting, metal-grid lockers, shrink-wrap and stencilled signage all belong to the warehouse vernacular in this Dr Martens pop-up store in London… The interior of the first Dr. Martens pop-up store resembles that of a warehouse, a building type that’s been used for temporary retail spaces before  In this case, however, it refers to Doc Martens’ brand identity, says Philip Handford, creative director of design firm Campaign.”

Selectism - Atlantic Works 4 Eyelet Boat Shoe

When we caught a view of these at Beams in Tokyo recently, we knew that the bottom had not hit yet for the boat market. Beams teamed with Atlantic Works on this proper green boat shoe from Atlantic Works. The shoe is a solid build made with tough as nails leather (probably Horween). The distinct look of the sole is a selling point. (beams)
