We quickly touch upon three fragrances from the CoSTUME NATIONAL line: one for men, women, and an androgynous third. The gents will be interested in their “Homme EDP:” “The fragrance opens with a very fresh blend of grapefruit, cardamom and bergamot. The essence then plunges into the spicy heart of Cinnamon, Thyme and Cloves. In the end, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Labdanum give depth and warmth to the general accord.” The androgynous “Scent Intense EDP” is stated to push out “hibiscus on a bed of rich amber while driving straight in the amber.” Those interested can sample the scent at CoSTUME NATIONAL and Barneys.

Do you want to smell like Mos Def? Well, do you? We’re not big fans of the celebrity fragrance but this one, with its impressive design and refreshing lack of celeb branding, struck us as a little interesting. Yassin Bey as he’s known to his friends and family has recently set up a design coop called ‘Fellowship Mission’. A group of creative minded cohorts (including Chris Gibbs of LA’s UNION) looking to produce all manner of stylish goods, this fragrance is one of their first products. “Harun No. 7 is a special blend of woodsy, spicy, Indian attar, with a refreshing citrus top note. A new collection of scents from Mad et Len. Odin’s latest fragrance, 07, is their latest unisex offering developed with Paris-based Drom perfumer Corinne Cachen. “Layering classically American scents inspired by the woods and surrounding waters of Northern California, 07 Tanoke arrives at a clean, crisp aroma that is grounded with a natural warmness. The masculine and feminine dichotomy that defines Odin Fragrances.” The 100ml bottle retails for $120 at ODIN NYC, Barneys and other retailers.

Johan Lindeberg debuted the new BLK DNM fragrance last week during Art Basel. Entitled, “Perfume 11,” the new BLK DNM scent is a unisex affair which is inspired by the scent in women throughout Lindeberg’s life. Respect to that. Except notes of “black amber, birch tar, and soft musks (base notes) blend with incense, fir balsam (mid notes) and finally cardamom (top notes) to create a peppery blend.”

Lindeberg notes that the numerical “11″ denotes 2011. In his mind, “between this year’s nuclear, financial and political crises and rallies, I feel an energy right now that is not dissimilar to the political movement and idealism I experienced… in the late 60’s. The current climate is a strong inspiration for me.” The 50ml “Perfume 11″ is available online and at their Lafayette St. location in New York City.

Holiday 2011 seems like a good time for Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos to deliver their new unisex fragrance. Working with brooklyn-based perfumer DS & Durga, Shipley and Halmos bring a childhood mix of memories from Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and South Florida’s waterways to the new scent. “Colorado and Florida” was inspired by two terms: “suntan lotion” and “alpine snow.” We hope to catch a wafting of it soon. A limited run is available now at Bird for $98.

Topman is set to deliver their first series of signature fragrances with the launch of Perfume 16 and 27. Available exclusively through Topman Oxford Circus and Selfridges, the two fragrances are distinct: “No.16 gives a sense of cool fresh air on top using three key notes, Bergamot, Poivre and a Woody/Ozone accent” while No.27  useses “addictive and distinctive” touches such as Clarysage, anise and Neroli… as well as Oakmoss, Frankincense, Cedarwood and skin penetrated Musks. They deliver on September 22.

Here’s another look at the Henrik Vibskov scents available now. We first looked at the “Type B” scent, but now here’s a full look at the Vibskov sock lined bottles. Something nice for the eyes and the nose. Choose between Berlin, Copenhagen and Damascus scents. Their launching in the U.S.A. next week in New York City.

Notcot turns us onto a creation so bizarre our headline looks oxymoronic. But apparently, these are a real creation by Cire Trudon for those moments when you have a smell emergency. We’d imagine many a man throwing these all over his apartment before a date arrives (and then nonchalantly acting like his place smells like this all the time).
