A look at Frank Leder Spring/Summer 2012 via HUH. A returning favourite, we admire his dedication to encorporating German heritage, one way or another, in all his collections. Having such a strong aesthetic has served him well, rarely falling victim to passing trends, he has continued to keep an air of weirdness about everything he produces whilst creating clothing that could generally be labelled ‘wearable’. As always there’s some strong knitwear throughout as well as a colour palette that won’t present too many challenges.

HUH brings us a look at the Frank Leder men’s collection for Autumn 2011.  Trained at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Leder delivers a clean collection with color moods that fall properly into the season. Worth a consideration for your overall wardrobe. The model is awake in these shoot, in case you were wondering.

Frank Leder’s one of those labels that have more pull over in Japan than they do in the western hemisphere. We don’t have the time or desire to find out why at this very moment but we’re glad South Willard are stocking some of their goods. This cardigan’s a straightforward, classy, piece of knitwear that’ll slot into your wardrobe easier than, errrrr, a great piece of knitwear. (South Willard)

Some nice Made in Germany knitwear action from Frank Leder. If you’re tiring of those paper thin cardies that end up looking a bit ‘Trendy Dad’ then this sturdier option might be a nice alternative. 100% wool, this Red Melange knit adds a relatively sober touch of colour, the black cuffs and waistband a nice feature.

We guess anyone who’s watched Bambi won’t be a fan of this jacket. But hey, look on the bright side – at least a deer passed to make an amazing jacket! We’re sure they’re were secretly rather excited about it. Type of leather aside, we’re fans of all the beige bombers appearing on the market this autumn – it looks like this will be the season we go shopping after a drab spring summer season. Here’s one for the proxy-ers out there. This Frank Leder shirt isn’t going to change the world but it looks cool and, being linen, it’ll keep you cool at the same time. What more could you want? Don’t answer that. We know there’s nothing else to want. (Museum Arks)

Frank Leder has published looks from their Spring/Summer 2010 collection on their site.  Camping and a bit of the outdoors are presented within a natural wood environment. Schooboy blues are explored through seasonal trousers, cardigans, and jackets.

By the looks of this deer leather jacket/blazer from Frank Leder, we can only assume it is aggressively soft on the wear while having the weight of a cowboy vest. The brown jacket is uniquely finished in deer leather with proper tailoring work found throughout. The liner is also leather, pockets – leather. This is about as good as it gets. (arks)

One of our favorites, Fashionisto, puts us onto the Spring 2009 collection from Frank Leder. “Taking inspiration from workers at play, the collection borrows elements from outdoor recreational activities like river fly-fishing. Using linen from a small manufacturer on the Baltic Coast and unusual fabrics like Swiss Mountain canvas, Leder interjects his spring collection with old-age masculinity. Washed and hand dyed cottons baring an inner old workers’ motif, original fishing flies, and a convolute of original 1930’s oil tins make this collection unique.” A webstore to launch in April is in the works for Frank Leder, so be sure to visit their homepage soon.
