We’ve featured this before but now it’s on sale we had to bring it to your attention again. We love it when the price comes down just enough on an item to render it affordable. That’s the case with this Raf Simons for Fred Perry polo shirt, reduced to £70. It’s not a huge saving from the original price of £110, but it brings it well under the £100 mark - a mental barrier for a lot of people. (Browns)

On such a sunny day right at the start of a killer weekend, I show you this - the Fred Perry for Fox Umbrella “Umbrella.” The signature umbrella merges two classic British brands, though one is slightly older than the other. The classic frame umbrella includes a true maple handle and is made from top quality nylon.

The best thing about Raf Simons SS09 collaboration with Fred Perry is that they’ve included colours other than black. That said, the multicolour polo might just be a little too colourful for some people. This polo shirt is a nice twist on the usual polo top, with the soft polo top fabric making a much more comfortable shirt than even Oxford shirts. Get it from Browns.

Fans of Raf Simons will want to review his Autumn 2009 collection for Fred Perry. Simons has gone full throttle on the use of metals and shimmer to accentuate the famous Fred Perry “Laurel.” Look for wears made from a knit combination of twisted metal yarns, polos with woven large gauge metals used to highlight the “laurel,” and metallic bags. We past through the Fred Perry booth this afternoon at Bread & Butter Barcelona and discovered this Wax Harrington Jacket. “Made in England [from fly weight Millerain fabric], the jacket has a cord lined press stud collar, 2 press stud handwarmer pockets, inside zip pocket, vented back, elasticated cuffs and hem, Fred Perry tartan check liner…” Available now from Oi Polloi.

This past Friday, Fred Perry opened it’s first retail store in the United States, in, of all places, New York City. Located at 133 Wooster Street, the Fred Perry Shop houses all the favorites including classic polos, knit cardigans, track jackets and vests round out the men’s showing, while knit dresses, wool coats and laurel emblazoned sweater sets make up the bulk of the womens.

THOF reports in with preview looks at the coming Spring/Summer 2009 Raf Simons for Fred Perry Collection. Leaving behind the “all black” color range found in the previous seasons wears, SS09 takes hints of inspiration from the “West African culture which can be seen in the natural fabrics and vibrant colour palette of copper brown, earth orange, regal blue and honey hues worked in multi coloured striping.”

The collection of 25 pieces includes the expected Perry polos and knits but also includes a variety of new goods including a Harrington slim fit jacket and slip-on loafers.

Fred Perry continue their collaboration work with this upcoming collection from fellow collaboration fanatic Peter Jensen. Jensen has worked with everyone from B Store to Topman and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. Available now from American Rag CIE a sharp make up of Fred Perry’s table tennis shoe. The basics remain as always. Reinforced suede toe. Slim silhouette. What’s new? Silver contrast eyelets and patent leather body. The color scheme and material choice remove the shoe from its core intent (but, who really has “table tennis” shoes) and gives it a life outside. One detraction, it’s a sneaker caught between retro and high fashion, with not quite enough hybrid built in for success.
