Fred Perry footwear introduces the Wardour Canvas shoe, based on an original Fred Perry Empire lace-up style from the 1950’s. The casual sneaker will come in three different colorways – Ecru, Dark Carbon and Military green – each with alternative laces.

Fred Perry took their classic polo and gave it a touch of cycling jersey for a small collection coming in Autumn 2011. As you can see from the photos, racing stripes are in order as well as neck zippers and high collars as found on the traditional jersey. As seen at SEEK Berlin.

“A slim moccasin for Winter” is probably what the Fred Perry design team was thinking when they designed this shoe. The “Aldwych Suede Shoe” comes in a supple tan or gray color in a lace-up front with tonal rubber sole. Like all things Fred Perry, these shoes have the crest on the back ankle of both shoes. I would personally Snowseal the shoe so it could withstand the rain and have a darker color to it. A solid silhouette with a great design, FP strikes again. The shoe is available at Gargyle.

A bit of a retrospect on this “new” Fred Perry collection which works with the very best in U.K. heritage clothing lines. “Liberty is, of course, a British institution, with their art fabrics being used by everyone from Dior to Gucci, so they were an obvious choice to provide the fabrics. Smyth & Gibson of Belfast have been hand making luxury shirts for more than two decades… The End product is three beautifully construction shirts, each with meticulous attention to detail. The styles echo both Liberty’s and Fred Perry’s heritage, using both oxford cloth and Liberty Art Fabrics to great effect. The Fred Perry/ Raf Simons relation continues to run strong. Here’s a basic polo in solid stripes. “A woven stripe polo shirt from the Raf Simons / Fred Perry Fall 10 collaboration.  This standard fitting polo is made from striped panels of brushed cotton in the colours of the season. We’re confused by this. Not the bag itself, but why this bag is labelled as ‘Fred Perry x Harris Tweed’. Surely everyone technically ‘collaborates’ with fabric companies? We’d ask why they feel the need to mention it now, but we all know how strong heritage is these days. Confusing bag names aside, it’s a good looking piece. Now if you excuse, we’re gonna make our latest collaboration: ‘milk x honey nut cheerios’ (dropping this morning). [End]

NME reports that Paul Weller may be giving the Gallagher brother a helping hand with design for his Pretty Green label. As reported, the Jam mastermind seems to already be working on some looks which may well work out to be a signature line under the Pretty Green label. ” ‘I’ve got designs for suits, jackets, shoes – I’ve been talking to Liam about them,’ he explained. ‘It’s the same principle as what he’s [Gallagher] doing, really – stuff I’d wear myself.’ ”

This is not the first time that Weller has dipped into fashion. His love for Fred Perry is fairly well known.
