Jack Spade NYC shop gets a special collection of the old timer baseball caps from Montana’s Freeman Transport. Three colors are available in their caps, which our staff loves to rock (some of us with their bicycles as well). Find them at 56 Greene Street in NYC.

Selectism - Oakley Jawbone Sunglasses for Freeman Transport

Our friends at Freeman Transport sent over some looks of a short run of Oakley Jawbones produced in the “olive drab” color way you’ll find on most of their bicycles. The Oakley Jawbones use VR50 transition vented lenses. I happen to ride in the Jawbones as many do, and they are some of the lightest and breathable shades on the market today. We’re not clear if they’ll be sold, but for now, they look great.

Milliman for Freeman Transport “Home & Away”

YouTube Preview Image

“Through two distinct shoots, and over a period of three months, photographer Chris Milliman worked with Freeman Transport to document daily life of co-founder Benjamin Ferencz. At home in Missoula, MT, Milliman follows Ferencz through his routine. Picking up mail. Answering buisness calls. And, of course, riding his bike. Home and Away gives visual record to the Freeman idea. A lifestyle led by the bicycle and an open sense of adventure – whether that be in culture, food, or purely in the possibilities presented through travel…”

Of course, art direction and design was done by  Ferecnz’s The Design Cooperative. 500 newsprint books have been produced. They’re available now direct from Freeman Transport.

Freeman Transport Cycling Cap

selectism - Freeman Transport Cycling Cap

For their first few rounds of hats, Freeman Transport went with classic Americana – perfectly rendered wool baseball caps and a sturdy waxed canvas 5-panel. The latter is inspiration for their latest release, a cycling cap that merges a collection of core Freeman interests. Cycling is a given, it’s a cycling cap after all, and the (now) signature use of chambray lining to the light waxed canvas (available in navy or green) an indication of their sartorial inclinations. The caps are also produced in the USA, California to be exact, another hallmark of Freeman product.

Their artistic side? That’s incorporated too. You just have to head to the jump to find out how.

Freeman Transport Gravel Racer

bike Freeman Transport Gravel Racer

The second bike from Freeman Transport is the Gravel Racer. As an ode to co-founder Nathaniel Freeman’s great-great-grandfather (an industrial revolution era inventor), the guys have utilized a gun metal finish – richly patinaed with blues and ferric browns. The bike can be built as a fixed gear or with coaster breaks. They are available as a frame set, or in two builds. Also, the option for couplers exists (just as on their track bike), but the Gravel Racer can be ordered without.

A beautiful cruiser. Images from our good friend Mr. ACL.

Details follow.

Celebrating 100 years of the Giro d’Italia, our friends at Freeman Transport have produced a new t-shirt with an ode to the front runners jersey. Modeled after the pink pages of the La Gazzetta dello Sport, the overall leader of The Giro sports a maglia rosa jersey.

Connecting to the color, and drawing their own tour of Montana, the Freeman team attaches their location and history in cycling to one of the most cherished events in the sport.

The t-shirt is available now direct from Freeman Transport.
