Watch | Freemans Sporting Club’s Suiting for Spring 2012

09 January 2012, 23.19 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

The ever consistent NOWNESS delivers another outstanding premiere with a look at the animation of Canadian artist, Shayne Ehman for Freemans Sporting Club’s Spring 2012 ready-to-wear suiting collection. Less of a brand video and more of a story told through some rather spaced-out cast of characters, the video highlights a suitcase filled with the brand’s collection. Photographer, Tim Barber, produced the video. #aliens

Allen Edmonds for FSC Bayfield Boots

AE FSC boots 01 Allen Edmonds for FSC Bayfield Boots

Freemans Sporting Club got together with old school American shoemaker Allen Edmonds to produce their take on the Bayfield Boot.

This one has a look of a lighter, more slimmed down boot however with Allen Edmunds you get something constructed to last.”Our Bayfield is designed for harsh weather with a mini lug sole for traction in rain & snow. All AE 360-degree welted shoes are so well-made that they can actually be returned to their original glory through Allen Edmonds exclusive Recrafting process.”

A nice piece of footwear that, in the unlikely event of malfunction, can be rebuilt and returned to life.

Viberg Service Boot for Freemans Sporting Club

The Viberg Service boot for Freemans Sporting Club features a brogue boot tip and Vibram 4014 Christy soles. Colorwise, they are a new play on the classic service boot without reaching too far off the original intention. With Viberg’s history, these boots are sure to be quality (and Freemans would not get into bed with just any boot-makers). A good tan color on this one. Find it now in-store at Freemans Sporting Club.

There’s always a debate when spring comes around – can you wear chukka boots with shorts? We’re leaning towards yes. Of course it depends on several scientific elements like short length, steez levels and whether you have the requisite levels of sprezzatura to pull it off. If you have all three of these, then proceed and wear these with shorts. Otherwise don’t try this or people on the internet will mock you. (Unionmade)

F.S.C Winchester Trouser in Indigo

With the recent opening of their barbershop in San Francisco, Freeman’s Sporting Club has been gaining lots of momentum. One of their garments that looks to be a necessity for Spring/Summer 2011 is the Winchester Trouser. The pant is cut slim and is the perfect rendition of the “flat-front chino, Corozo buttons at the waistband” and clean welted pockets on the rear. A garment “Made in NYC, 3 miles from downtown Manhattan.”

Freemans Sporting Club (F.S.C) Waxed Cotton Chore Jacket

26 March 2011, 00.01 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Freemans Sporting Club (F.S.C) Waxed Cotton Chore Jacket

New York based artisans, Freemans Sporting Club (F.S.C), shows us how to make a chore jacket for the rain. The timeless chore jacket is an iconic American garment that was made popular by workmen of the last century. F.S.C re-creates this piece and takes the classic details and implements them into this work coat. “With less than 5% of American clothing being manufactured here, F.S.C. remains steadfastly dedicated and proud to be an American made product.” The “Waxed Cotton Chore jacket” uses “5.5oz 80/20 cotton/nylon” for its exterior and also features a “water and wind resistant” shell that’s perfect for stormy weather. F.S.C states that the cut is a “comfortable fit” so size down to give it a more modern style. They use “Black gun metal jean style donut buttons on the front placket and cuff” for added durability.

Freemans Sporting Club Wool Winchester Trouser

selectism - Freeman Sporting Club Wool Winchester Trouser

Geared for winter, the wool iteration of the Winchester Trouser, Freeman Sporting Club’s staple chino, is produced in NYC of Japanese fabric. The slim fitting, flat front pant works in both casual and formal settings (well, not ultra formal). Buttons are genuine Corozo – made from the Tagua Nut and prized for button making since the 19th-century – which adds another touch of class to the garment.
