Periscope Camera by Yaniv Berg

selectism - Periscope Camera by Yaniv Berg

Dezeen shares Yaniv Berg’s Periscope Camera. “Here’s another conceptual project from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design student Yaniv Berg, this time a digital SLR camera where the lens and body are merged to form a kinked cylinder. The controls would be along the side of the Periscope Camera with the display at one end and lens at the other. Berg was inspired by a traditional reflex camera, which is held close to the photographer’s stomach and looked down into while shooting.”

Yanko Design reports (and raves) about a new espresso machine by designer Shmuel Linkski. Espresso Solo finds Linkski housing the active devices of the machine in a two-part molded concrete body. However, due to popular demand BlackBerry have now created one last handset, which will be acquired by one lucky customer on the last day of May. Customers may phone the Concept Store at Selfridges Oxford Street to leave their details and be entered for the chance to buy the last centenary BlackBerry!”

highsnobiety - Panasonic DMC LX3K

These days its hard to imagine living without a digital camera. Everybody always seems to have one around and that is most of the time a good thing. Usually we do not cover tech, but here we make an exception.

We have always been fans of quality digital cameras with a bit of a retro look, lots of options, but when needed the camera can do it all by itself. In that category are most notably the Panasonic Lumix range, Ricoh, Canon G-Series and a couple of others. We want it compact, but full of options and all these cameras offer that.

Now Panasonic just released their new DMC-LX3K. From the look we definitely like it, especially the added grip that the LX2 did not have. The Leica technology also does not disappoint and the camera comes with the a 24mm wide-angle – perfect. Off of the sheet it all sounds good. We have not tested it, but it is worth checking out, if you are looking for a new digital camera.
