Many have been waiting on this one. The fourth installment of New York City’s “Pop Up Flea” returns tomorrow, December 2 through the weekend.  More than 30 brands and vintage dealers  are taking part in this year’s installment. It is a true one stop shopping experience for men’s gift buying.

One of the more interesting takes from the Gitman Vintage collection is his vertical pattern button down. It comes finished in a heavier weight fabric than you would usually find in the line. The beautiful blues will work with a variety of looks. Need Supply has them.

Gitman back! To be more specific this Gitman Vintage shirt, which we featured at a tradeshow a while ago, is back. As prints go, it’s subtle – and will be wearable even when the hunger for prints fades away. Like we’ve mentioned before, times like these are the best time to stock up on the best printed shirts out there. You don’t want to be stuck for options when everyone returns to whiteshirtmania. Some looks at the Gitman Vintage Spring 2012 collection as shown at (capsule) Las Vegas. The collection offers patterns pulled from their archive as well as what we believe to be new prints that continue to keep Gitman as one of the go-to shirt makers in the States.

We also preview some of the new shorts coming from the collection. We’re loving the zebra print.

You know what we’re not crazy about? The whole ‘wear a tie with the top button undone’ thing. It’s faux nonchalance, much like tying a jumper over your shoulders or leaving your bowtie undone but around the neck. Just do up your top button, it won’t hurt. As Marlo would say, either do it or don’t. (End)

A classy collaboration, we thought that now it’s officially shirt and maybe(italics) a cardigan weather, it’s time to showcase any ones with interesting details. We’ve been trying to do a Jack Kevorkian on check shirts for a while now but they refuse to go away. So instead we’ve come to a compromise – just put the checks on your shoulder and you’ll be okay. Pushing some special editions out to the European shops, Gitman Vintage works with French-trotters on three shirts; each with special hits. Navy and check oxford shirts feature contrasting shoulders (the navy gets some check and check gets the navy treatment). For those who prefer no hit on the shoulder, check their gingham print shirt with elbow treatments. French flavor on these and they work.
