Giuliano Fujiwara creative director Masataka Matsumura is known for paying special attention to the accessories and this AW09 collection is no different. The collection features crocodile skin backpacks, geometric mid-tops (pictured above) and chunky soled oxfords next to high shine holdalls and comparatively sober wallets.

Creative director Masataka Matsumura displayed his Giuliano Fujiwara A/W 2009 collection in Milan this week, in what is his third year at the creative helm of the brand. Like most of Milan’s shows, the focus is on cut and fabric instead of colour, with the collection mostly in neutral tones. Highlights include a suit from flecked wool, a velvet jacket and a camel blazer. Check after the jump for the rest of the collection.

We featured Giuliano Fujiwara’s SS09 collection yesterday, but we thought his accessories were so special they deserved a post of their own. For instance, take the High tops featured in the picture above, High tops are the standard by now, but the patent leather and suede toe give it an edge. Giuliano Fujiwara debuted back in 1986 and made an impact on the Italian fashion industry with its distinctive brand of minimalism. The brand’s current creative director, Masataka Matsumura, is relatively new, having started with the brand in 2005. The SS09 collection plays with proportions, regularly featuring short jacket sleeves and overlong shirt sleeves.
