Givenchy Pre-Spring 2013 Collection – Looks

24 May 2012, 22.15 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

givenchy pre spring 2013 1 Givenchy Pre Spring 2013 Collection Looks

Following up on our preview, today we take a wider look at the pre-Spring 2013 collection from Givenchy as directed by Riccardo Tisci. Pink plays a strong role in the street inspired collection as do some vibrant and fresh digital prints that mark up everything from shirts to iPad cases and beyond. Greens of paisley form cover shorts and shirts while a solid waist coat in green (see our gallery) contrasts well against – once again – pink. Givenchy remains one of the more street-forward lines on the market today.

Givenchy Resort Collection 2013 – Preview

16 May 2012, 23.30 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

givenchy resort fall2012 1 Givenchy Resort Collection 2013 Preview

Riccardo Tisci continues to think forward when outfitting the modern. While many reading this here site will see the collection as non-classic, we believe this to be the fucking point. Tisci is designing for the youth looking for their own way. WWD previews their first solo resort effort (past collections were shown side by side with their women’s collection) that picks up on “childhood themes” that work playfully with military steez.

Example: “A noisy print of military decorations and swooshing World World I planes splashes across one of the line’s T-shirts, paired with a Boy Scout-flavored tartan shirt and black shorts, inspired by childhood games of toy soldiers.” Banger.

Muse Homeboy 01 Muse Magazine Issue 29 Home Boy Editorial

It’s Sunday. I’m on my way home for a long overdue roast dinner. I can’t decide what to wear. My folks haven’t seen me since I moved to the city. In the time I’ve been away I’ve become fancy, elegant, a real snappy dresser. I own a Hermes belt. It’s my favourite. I hope it’s lamb, mum always overcooks pork and with lamb you get the option of mint jelly or mint sauce. Hope dad doesn’t ask too many questions about what I’ve been up. Hopefully my outfits will reassure him that I’m moving up in the world. Look at my belt. I’m going places.

Givenchy Pin-Up Flip-Flops

Givenchy Pin-Up Flip-Flops

The Snobettes caught these pin-up Givenchy sandals back at the beginning of the month. While we and the rest of the blogs catch up, we point you in their direction for all things women’s and fashion. Tell them we sent you.

For now, we stand strong on top of the pin-ups, that for some reason have their bare sides black barred on the sandals. Not a very Givenchy way of doing things, but we’ll live. Pick up a stack and leave them around for guests to walk and wear in your home. Colette still has them. Check your prized Givenchy retailer for some.

And yeah, these flip-flops are the only pair that you should consider.

givenchy tshirts ss2012 1 The Best Givenchy T shirts and Sweatshirts for Spring 2012

We could stop simply at the embroidered rottweiler t-shirt and our story would be complete…

…but alas, not everyone needs a dog on their chest. For this reason, we share our favorite t-shirts for Spring 2012, from Givenchy. While hip-hop has put the focus on the brand over the last 24 months, others not influenced by such musical personas will discover unique and proper fit t-shirts and sweatshirts with printed graphics unlike others on the market. Birds and robots against nude women – all adorned in that spring feathering theme – will work for anyone that tries. The only thing that may hold you back is the pricepoint. Riccardi has them all.

Givenchy – pre-Autumn 2012 – Kings of Streetwear

Givenchy - pre-Autumn 2012 - Kings of Streetwear

Let’s be honest about it: the current king of street fashion, and fuck it, we’ll throw streetwear into the fold, is Givenchy.

When two of the biggest names in modern music position Givenchy along with themselves on dueling totems inside sold-out arenas, it may a bit to the masses. But the truth is more discernible. Designer Riccardo Tisci and his team pattern their looks with distinct fits and textiles while throwing in graphics and patterns that seem to live in their own world – almost individual.

Go ahead and hate if you want; the kids aren’t listening.

Givenchy Crewneck Leather Sleeve Jumper

09 November 2011, 20.30 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

Selectism - givenchy-leather-sleeve-jumper-01

To paraphrase a great scholar, this is some givenchy worth getting raunchy for. Leather sleeves are a thing at the moment, but don’t let that put you off. This is a half recommendation, as we think this jumper’s good but not great. We’re no designers but we can’t help but think that this would’ve been better off as a knitted baseball jacket. But that’s just us nitpicking. (Ssense)
