Let’s be honest about it: the current king of street fashion, and fuck it, we’ll throw streetwear into the fold, is Givenchy.

When two of the biggest names in modern music position Givenchy along with themselves on dueling totems inside sold-out arenas, it may a bit to the masses. But the truth is more discernible. Designer Riccardo Tisci and his team pattern their looks with distinct fits and textiles while throwing in graphics and patterns that seem to live in their own world – almost individual.

Go ahead and hate if you want; the kids aren’t listening.

To paraphrase a great scholar, this is some givenchy worth getting raunchy for. Leather sleeves are a thing at the moment, but don’t let that put you off. This is a half recommendation, as we think this jumper’s good but not great. We’re no designers but we can’t help but think that this would’ve been better off as a knitted baseball jacket. But that’s just us nitpicking. (Ssense)

Solid players from the Givenchy line. Their capsule boot take the form of a patent leather hiker-like boot with a chunky sole. The mid-top boot looks like a strong contender in the men’s boot market for Autumn 2011. Ssense has them.

Have to give it to Givenchy for making materials work. This leather sleeved check shirt, part of their Autumn 2011 collection, looks pretty strong on this model in the Ssense shop. While I am not usually a fan of leather mashed with browns, the  pebbled nature of the leather sleeves seems to work incredibly well in this application. Made in Portugal for those that like to know that stuff.

The Rottweiler is killing it on the front of this Givenchy sweater for Autumn/Winter 2011. The image is used on a t-shirt and more Easily one of the strongest graphical images from the high end fashion house in some time. Big balls and worthy of a wear. 2011 could be the year for a another prominent push in skins. This Givenchy looks to start it off. “Textured leather bifold wallet in black with brown snakeskin embossing at front and back. Inside lined card slots, bill compartment and logo print. Tone on tone stitching” Ssense has them.
