Goodhood and R. Newbold deliver their latest collaborative collection. We’re looking at the jaquard leopard print shirt (also available in jacket form). Not much to say – you either look at this piece and think it is worthy of wear or you pass onto something else. We personally find it unique in blue.

These Type 130 Jeans (a slim straight) from British denim brand Tender, are exclusive to Goodhood. The store shares, “When we first met founder William Kroll, we were impressed with his devotion to his art. As he took us through the design principles of his products we were equally impressed with his ingenuity and passion for details and processes. The jeans are made from 16oz Japanese denim with a mini blue selvedge – seriously hefty denim. Triple stitching and re-enforced seams give the jeans a workwear look but it’s not just for visual effect – even the pocket bags are made from selvedge calico to stop wearing out!”

Goodhood release their collab for this season and here’s our pick of the bunch. We feel ridiculously cliched calling anything a staple, but a good denim jacket is always a welcome addition to a wardrobe. The plaid on the cuffs make this an acquired taste but we’re fans. (Goodhood)

Four seasons in and GOODHOOD is already working a overview of their work on R. Newbold. “This month in Daikanyama, Tokyo, at the Paul Smith Box Gallery, there is a retrospective exhibition of Goodhood, R. Newbold products. The exhibition showcases the new collection which  is the 4th season of working together as well as key products from the past 4 collections.” The retrospective runs through February 28th.

While we love the idea of Paul Smith just dropping into stores, we’re pretty sure he was at Goodhood to discuss this. The ongoing collab between the Shoreditch boutique and Paul Smith’s Japan range continues with a capsule collection of pieces. Our pick of the bunch is this sweatshirt, made from the ‘on point/trend/bang on’ flecked wool. The multi-coloured popper buttons give this sweater a nice playful, perfect for jazzing up a workwear inspired ‘fit. (Goodhood)

Two SL faves met up when Goodhood interviewed Paul Smith, who dropped by to visit them. At first glance it’s a bizarre pairing, the man known for his signature stripe and the Shoreditch based streetwear store. However, it’s not so bizarre given that Smith’s Japan line, R.Newbold, is stocked there. An interesting point is made when the designer is asked about how he continues to find inspiration.

“I find inspiration from everywhere, for instance on the way here we passed a tiny building squashed between two big ones in Clerkenwell – for me that makes me think of a small pocket on a big jacket or a small garment in a big window, just by observing around you, its all there if you want it – you’ve got to train your eyes to look.”

The R.Newbold for Goodhood pop chinos may not be the first to market with their offering but they do bring the heat in terms of construction. Available in three colors – navy blue, grey, and beige, the chinos are made from 100% cotton selvedge twill and fit regular with just a touch of taper on the hem line. the contrasting stitching on the pockets is a nice feature. Great durable looks from this collaboration.
