Canvas is looking to be a choice material this spring as the number of canvas accessories and footwear continues to rise. Grenson are the latest company to showcase their canvas footwear with these Oxford shoes. The main difference between this and, say, ASOS’s own brand versions is that these are extremely well made, offer a better quality, sturdier canvas material and are built to last. ODIN New York expands their reach by working with Grenson on two excellent shoe models – a chukka boot and a canvas oxford. We’re pretty much in love with both models. The chukka boot looks to be made from full grain leather on the upper and finished nicely in black, while the oxford – the stand out model – is finished in black canvas with brown laces and a full wood heel. Very well done.

We are big fans of traditional manufacturing as you might have noticed by now. Therefore we have also been from the very start supporters of the Albam Clothing shoe range, produced by Grenson. Grenson and Albam seem like two brands destined for each other, so it’s only natural that they have collaborated on a range of shoes. The collection features a pair of tan leather desert boots, brown brogues and a pair of oxfords.The chukka style desert boots are available now and the rest of the collection will be available soon.

Grenson’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection sees the classic brand experiment with colours whilst keeping the classic shapes they’re known for. The main difference between this and their winter collection is that the majority of the shoes come unlined, making them lighter for summer. We’ve noted Grenson’s pushing of pastel pink lately and while we’re not sure it’ll take off, it makes for interesting shoes. Take a look at the rest of the SS09 collection after the jump.

GQ turns us onto this eye-catching collaboration between Kurt Geiger and Grenson. Available in sky blue, pink, green and yellow, these brogues (or wingtips, depending on which side of the pond you’re on) are definitely ready for Spring. Each pair are handcrafted from calf suede and lined with calf leather in the traditional Grenson manner. These aren’t an everyday brogue, but they’re sure to be a worthy addition to any shoe lovers wardrobe. They’ll be available later on this month online and in Liberty, Selfridges and Harrods.

The Grenson Shoe company of Northamptonshire, England has been producing fine leather shoes since 1866 – not an easy feat for any company. Truth be told, Grenson did re-launch their brand in 2004 "using its heritage and quality [to make] it relevant to the modern marketplace." New models in the Grenson collection make it just a bit more appealing to the younger shopper. Grenson’s Rose Collection for Fall 2008 keeps with the classic, sophisticated stylings of a shoe line "born from English classics." 

And just for kicks, the next time you pick up a Rag & Bone shoe, be well aware that it was handcrafted by the fine people at Grenson.
