While Hackett is respected and viewed as a heritage brand (which it is) outside of the UK, those on UK soil have know that it’s had a slight image problem for a few years now. Usually being worn by ‘chavs’ (google it if you don’t know the term) would kill off most brands, as it nearly did Burberry, but Hackett have managed to drive a wedge between the Hackett polo wearing cab driver and the man who’d buy items like this shaving kit from their upcoming Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Aside from being well made and classy, we can’t help but notice how similar the logo on top of the shaving arm is to our own – it’s clear they have great taste.

Selectism Columnist, Kyle Hackett, turns us onto Hackett of London’s Bespoke Selvedge Denim in his continuing hunt for denim. Details are the charmer on these slim fit jeans made from 13.5oz selvedge – the back pocket has a nice red stitched “H” while the selvedge end shows through on the front coin pocket. Wallpaper Magazine describes Britian’s Hackett best. "With 25 years of evolutionary rather than revolutionary male clothing and accessories under their belt, Hackett has carved itself a considerable niche in the menswear market as a timeless, British brand. In celebration of their quarter century milestone they’re pushing the boat out a little further by creating three special collections: Silver, Tweed and Aston Martin."

What this means to us is three solid products from Hackett – a silver Toast Rack, a tweed jacket produced by Scotland’s Lovat Mill, and a great green racing helmet for Aston Martin.
