Merry Christmas this fine Sunday. I hope all those celebrating have done it right and fattened up, opened gifts of a decent order and/or went out there and volunteered your time for a good cause.  But product don’t sleep for the holidays, so we’ll bring you just one for today.

We’re borrowing it from our relatives over on Highsnob who seem to never rest (then again, today may not be their holiday – we love them of course for working though). Levi’s Japan worked up this tote bag from what could have been Harris Tweed remnants over at the factory. Nothing too grand about it, but for some still looking to add a dash of tweed on this Christmas, it may well work.

Epaulet bring us another ‘Mash-up’ item. This time they’ve taken Harris Tweed in three varieties; navy marl, oatmeal herringbone and gray-green basket-weave. Woven in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, this traditional fabric starts its life as 100% virgin wool.

Epaulet have created a traditional half-canvassed blazer (the canvas giving added structure to the jacket) featuring what they describe as ‘a natural shoulder’. Features include double rear vents, slim lapels, royal purple lining, goat suede elbow patches and goat suede undercollar. The real selling point is the patchwork of tweeds, rather than making this ‘wacky’ it actually just adds a bit of interest to a classic American sportcoat.

HOBO gets on the Harris Tweed wagon with two new bags – a shoulder pack and tote. Both come in that very familiar Scottish finish. A proper choice for the proper guy. (v)

AHTE. No, we’re not misspelling hate, that stands for ‘all Harris Tweed everything’ – a cause we can all get behind in this day and age. It’s certainly a cause F-Troupe believe, as they’ve released a tweed heavy range for this autumn, which includes these lovely Chukka boots.

For those looking for more tweed in their lives, check these two Harris Tweed bags from the Fred Perry collection. Available in a grey weekender and a blue shoulder bag, both feature a “silver metal” laurel and leather finishings. We found them on the Fred Perry Japan site. You should be able to find them locally.

Style Salvage (or savage, we hear they like being called both) get all tweedy with their latest post. The team took a trip to Harris Tweed Hebrides, taking in a hefty amount of factory porn alongside some scenery shots. The team were sent over to check the new Nikes, which were made using Harris Tweed. The end product’s looking prett-y good, too. It’s a long read, so get a cup of coffee and take some time out of your day and hop on over to Style Salvage/Savage.

We’re confused by this. Not the bag itself, but why this bag is labelled as ‘Fred Perry x Harris Tweed’. Surely everyone technically ‘collaborates’ with fabric companies? We’d ask why they feel the need to mention it now, but we all know how strong heritage is these days. Confusing bag names aside, it’s a good looking piece. Now if you excuse, we’re gonna make our latest collaboration: ‘milk x honey nut cheerios’ (dropping this morning). [End]

Some proper interpretations of the safari jacket from the Ships group in Japan. Harris Tweed is the choice fabric and it does the look well by providing a colder weather jacket for a usually hot for the equator type of wares. Ships tends to do things right, so we’re sure these pieces will last you some time. Herringbone is king. (zozo)
