Sonoran: The next Helvetica

Selectism - sonoran-font-01

iDsgn has a great look at Sonoran, the font that’s touted as the next Helvetica. Created by Robin Nicholas and Patricia Saunders, they’ve been working on it since the early 1980’s – so they’ve put a bit of thought into it. In fact, Saunders is quoted as saying “We’ve solved typography”. See more over at iDsgn. UPDATE: This is why we hate April Fool’s Day.

Moleskine “Helvetica” 50th Anniversary Notebooks

moleskin helvetica notebook Moleskine Helvetica 50th Anniversary Notebooks

I present this because I know we all desire the look of a Swiss passport. Nothing says neutral as well as a red bound notebook with an “equilateral white cross.” We can all accomplish this by getting out hands on one of the 500 special edition Moleskine Notebooks in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Helvetica typeface. The Moleskine was developed with the help of Japanese design collective Groovisions. Find it now in red and black skin at Moleskine Asia. (via drawn.ca)
