Aesop Store Temporary Display in Hong Kong by Cheungvogl Architects

When it comes to unique and strong build-outs, the folks at apothecary Aesop does it better than almost anyone. Their latest installation inside I.T. Hysan in Hong Kong was locally designed by Cheungvogl Architects. The installation features more than 800 resin boxes arranged on steel rods enclosed inside a translucent fabric. The unique veiled is more than likely not done justice through images. The installation will become permanent on their first floor display shortly. tip: designboom

The shop brings that antique shop – meets men’s shop to the island. “As for Hong Kong, the demand has been increasing for similar shops to appear, and in recent years, local fans of the genre have been active in introducing this unique culture to the city. Although the items may not have been the best quality, but it had assisted the start of this trend and it is definitely something worth supporting. In late October, a pleasant surprise for the birth of the GENERAL STORE was found in Gage Street near SOHO district in Central.”

Partners & Spade "Shop" at Lane Crawford Hong Kong

NYC’s Partners & Spade is taking their concept into Hong Kong via the Lane Crawford mall. “The Partners & Spade studio produces films, books, apparel and conceptual products, while the storefront showcases eclectic collections of artwork, objects, and rare books, as well as exhibits curated by a variety of collaborators. Lane Crawford ifc mall will offer an array of products from these collections, including lightings by Jason Millers and Lindsey Adams Adelman for Roll & Hill, artwork by Hugo Guinness and Wes Lang, specially selected by Partners & Spade.” The “shop” opened in late May.

lv hong kong 00 Richard Prince Wraps Hong Kong Museum for Vuitton Show

Louis Vuitton expands their support of the Arts with a new show at the Hong Kong Museum of Art in collaboration with the Consulate General of France (in HK). Louis Vuitton: “A Passion for Creation” lands in the middle of the 17th French May Arts Festival in HK. The show is broken into three parts “each of which deals with different aspects of the [Vuitton] House’s activities and projects…” As well, the facade of the museum is being “wrapped” up with the “After Dark” series by Richard Prince and gives the Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong “a new facade.”

The exhibit is runs through August 9th at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

I have just returned from China and Hong Kong to learn that D-mop is celebrating its 20th anniversary. And since my jet-lag has me up long before the sun comes up every morning I figured I’d share this with you. To celebrate this special occasion, D-mop is creating collaborative product with some of the most respected designers from around the globe to celebrate this momentous milestone, including names like BLESS, Y-3, Miharayauhiro, and Bernhard Willhelm and more. Selectism - Indigo Farm by Adrian Nyman

Making its USA debut at Fred Segal Man in Santa Monica is designer Adrian Nyman’s capsule collection from Hong Kong’s Indigo Farms. Nyman, know for design work on the Warhol Factory x Levi’s X Damien Hirst project, designed a variety of denims, and shirts for Indigo Farms. Expect solid polin oxfords mixed with Zimbabwean cotton woven on selvedge looms.

As well, a three piece denim luggage trunk collection each lined with 100 year old Asian woodblock printed poplin.
