Florida’s MAKR delivers a new series of iPhone friendly sleeves in their signature Horween leather as well as some solid color options. The navy matte is a nice addition to the collection, along with khaki and charcoal latigo. Like all MAKR goods, each iPhone sleeve is hand sewn, painted and polished with skived and rolled edges. Somebody you know is going to get a camera for Christmas. It’s the easiest gift going and one that  doesn’t require an exceptional amount of imagination. So, if you want your friends or family to think you’re the kind of sensitive, thoughtful person who gives beautiful objects rather than catalogue picks then you won’t go far wrong with this. Testing headphones and wallets are about my favorite things. Chester Mox is a new start-up in the hand crafted leather goods movement. Their #31 double snap wallet carries a clean 100% Chromexcel Tan Horween Leather finish. The leather is a bit thinner than most Horween leather wallets I have used, but at the end of the day, it is indeed Horween. Stamped with their mark on the front and a great gift for both guys and gals. And, yes, the marks you see on the top side of the #31 are from our actual use. Buff ‘em out with your thumb.

Leffot in NYC is on a roll at the moment. It would seem that every shoe or accessories project they touch just gets it right – a rare feat these days. The latest is their own in-house leather belt made from Horween leather. “Chromexcel is the original pull-up leather made with old world craftsmanship; it carries on a long history of superior comfort and durability. Our friends at ACL get work their excellent cam setup for some looks inside Chicago’s Horween Leather. “This past summer I took a trip to visit the Horween tannery in Chicago. The purpose of the trip was to document the process of making shell cordovan for Wolverine. (Full disclosure, Wolverine is a client of my marketing firm Paul + Williams.) The cordovan would eventually be used in the making of the newly released Wolverine 1000 Mile 721LTD boots. To be able to go out there, see the Horween plant and document everything was really an amazing experience.”

SHIPS Japan as usual picks the proper partners for the co-brands. The horween leather boots above are worked with Hathorn Boots, which look to be part of the White’s family – a major favorite for our New England staff. The brown or black boots are built using leather from that famous Chicago tannery. The mid boot looks damn rugged when paired with the thick sole. (zozo)

Makr delivers their take on the common ruck sack with this model from their “Farm” series. This is the second of three items from the “Farm” collection. Simple duck cotton and natural horse leather straps make up the bag. The leather is of course horween. The Makr rucksack will be available in three colors: natural, black, and brown. Look for them soon.

Makr may be a small outfit from Florida but they’re leather goods place well as a gift for the man in your life. Their Horween wallet (which I happen to use) is now available in black. “The Flap Wallet is a horizontal flap closure wallet with receiving strap. The strap tightly closes the wallet and hides a laser etched logo panel. The design protects cards and allows for cash to be folded once and slipped behind.”

Not sure how MW got his hands on this one but it looks like things just fall into his mailbox.
