A CBS production with requisite weird voiceover, this is actually a rather informative documentary for those unfamiliar with denim’s roots or just the ultimate denim porn for those in the know. A short history of the world’s most popular fabric, we’re treated to Michael Allen Harris’ Blue Gold mine finds, Lynn ‘Levi’s’ Downey’s white glove gems and visit modern makers Roy Slaper (again) and Imogene + Willie. Imogene + Willie sent over this exclusive first look at their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection of fine men’s (and women’s) wear. The lookbook keeps it all close and personal; the shots are modelled by close friends and family of the Imogene + Willie line. New additions to the offering include, duck canvas pants, barn coats with striped wool flannel and more. Designed in-house by Imogene + Willie owners Matt and Carrie Eddmenson.

Imogene + Willie, is a denim company started in Nashville, Tennessee that prides itself in American history. The brand manufactures all their garments in-house and only use the best selvedge denim from Cone Mills. Brand founders, Carrie and Matt offer us the “Willie Jean in Barton Natural,” for the summer. A jean named after Carrie’s brother, Bart, the jean holds a slim straight fit with a slight tapered leg and a lower rise. A great new company that holds history as a true influence for the perfect pair of jeans.

Our favorite little brand from Nashville, Imogene+Willie, have launched a new website. It’s a simple platform, in keeping with their simple, handcrafted garments. Among our favorite pieces at the moment is the Jack chore coat. They’ve “modernized” the fit, but retained the “jack-of-all-trades” DNA of the chore coat. One of those pieces with near impossible to deny appeal.
