Complex sat down with Stones Throw Records founder Peanut Butter Wolf to talk new J Dilla Releases. In the six years since his death the complications surrounding his estate have left fans frustrated at the prospect of unheard tunes locked away forever. Word has is it these issues may be on the verge of being resolved but we pass you over to the guys in the know for some interesting insights into Dilla’s work, life and junk food based titles.

“Dilla’s beat tapes always had these great titles, named after unhealthy food that he wasn’t allowed to eat. The doctors would always tell him that he couldn’t have Burger King, he couldn’t eat this, he couldn’t eat that. So he always named his beat tapes based around that. He had one that was really great that’s still unreleased called The Pizza Man—and we always wanted to do something with it…” Read more over at Complex.

Hats off to Grain & Gram for this great little video offering a look at the workings of accessories favourites MAKR. Founder Jason Gregory skates, sews and sketches his way through the film and, with the help of his bearded associates, creates those totes, wallets and keyfobs we love so much. All crafted in their Florida studio – unsurprisingly one of those perfect spaces that makes you go ‘ooohhh’ –  this is a behind the scenes look at a small company making big waves. The Wall Street Journal have an interesting interview with CDG’s Rei Kawakubo today, breaking down her relationship with fashion, how the brand got started, working with Junya Watanabe and the design process. We’d usually pick out a single quote but the entire thing is worth a read, so go over to WSJ to do just that.

Interview magazine is an odd beast. When they get an interesting celeb interviewer, the features are great. When they get Waka Flocka Flame, not so much. This is a great one, as they’ve got Rick Owens to interview Kris Van Assche. As you’d expect it’s pretty fashtastic, with tales of the last time they met, KVA’s introduction into fashion and tattoos.
