When a watchmaker produces watches for expeditions we tend to pay attention. Take this IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Watch developed for “David de Rothschild and his crew during the four-month Plastiki expedition across the Pacific Ocean.” The blue and orange colors, which are signatures of the Plastiki expedition, are bold enough to rock all Summer long. You’ll find this 46mm automatic in an edition of 1,000. IWC rocks. (timezone)

The SIHH 2009 show just wrapped up from Geneva and though attendance may have been lax, a number of new models were unvieled. IWC dropped this Aquatimer Deep Two Chronograph. Encased in a 46mm stainless casing, the Aquatimer Deep Two is the takes over the reigns from the GST Deep One by not only showing the actual depth of the dive but also show the maximum depth reached during the dive. As Timezone puts it, “It… doubles as a complete second safety system alongside the dive computer.”

The History of the IWC Watch Company is told through this great online flip book. Although the book is more of a showpiece for last year’s IWC Collection, it still warrants attention due to its detailed examination of the origins of the International Watch Company from 1868 through the present. Told through a PDF style flip book, the history of IWC is a great one.

Selectism - IWC Ingenieur Zinedine Zidane Watch

France was indeed knocked out of the Euros in a death match (being one man down) against the Italians, but that is not stopping IWC from celebrating and commemorating the successful career of long time footballer – France’s own, Zinedine Zidane. The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinedine Zidane is housed in a stainless steel case, with French blue face, blue dyed leather alligator band, and of course, Zizou’s face on the reverse.

The color on this IWC Ingenieur Automatic is unique and bold. Expect the Zizou edition out soon with a limited production run of 1000 units. Go Portugal.
