We shared a preview from the forthcoming J. Lindeberg Biannual Vol. II for A/W 2012… today we take a further look at the still photography by Olivier Zahm for his “The Bunkers” editorial found inside. “The Document and a Dream” book highlights many artist and photography works to showcase the J. Lindeberg collection for the season. Models Julia oleynik and Nicole Trunfio are photographed by Zahm in and around a series of old silos. Beauty can be found in desolation it seems.

Many more looks from the shoot (some NSFW) on the following page.

JLindeberg ss12 book 12 J.Lindeberg Bi Annual Spring/Summer 2012

A beautifully shot story, part of J.Lindeberg’s bi-annual Spring/Summer 2012 edition. Shot by Ben Toms and styled by Robbie Spence, Lindeberg’s simple, Scandinavian garms are presented in style on both the men’s and women’s side. Dazed Digital features the book with commentary from Spence. “For the shoot, Ben Toms and I wanted to realise something that had a real focus on youth and a diverse feel with casting, focusing on the beauty of shooting real people as opposed to established models. All these different types of interesting characters in commune, a shared house in south London.”

J. Lindeberg – Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

lindeberg 1 J. Lindeberg Spring/Summer 2012 Collection
Culling inspiration from Gotland—a rather magical sounding island in Northern Scandinavia that is home to expansive sandy beaches, fancy yachts and ample sunshine—J.Lindeberg’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection offers some updated classics designed with the traveling man in mind. This comes through very literally in the Concord Travel Wool blazer with hidden internal pockets for carrying all your documents and communications gadgetry. Japanese laser-cut fabrics boast moisture repellent and transporting membrane technologies which we assume should keep errant glugs of coffee and beer from wrecking your day at the airport. The knitwear, meanwhile, uses techniques native to the island, where cashmeres, cottons and light wools bear symbolic patterns.

What do we like best? For some reason the green lining hinted at in the blazer pictured above keeps catching our eyes. The suede bomber jacket with the cargo pockets in front looks like a fun one for filling up and walking about in. Those extra blazer buttons on the khaki job also give a subtle bit of nautical flare. Overall the collection strikes us versatile and a tiny bit daring, which is usually a good combo.

J. Lindeberg Autumn/Winter 2012 - Looks

J. Lindeberg is taking some alpine queues and inspiration from the Arctic landscape for their Autumn Winter collection, coming later this year. Head designer, Jessy Heueve, tells us, “I’m inspired by the rough, arctic landscape and by garments that have evolved from a specific need – for utility and function in combination with the latest technical innovations – updating, developing and transforming them for the modern and active man.”

They may be onto something with their focus on the tech fabrics, as they have for some seasons now. The knitted leggings for men are of interest as is the use of Italian Loro Piana waterproof fabrics on their Wilhelm parka – they detail to quality is there. Consider J. Lindeberg today if you have passed over their collections; the Scandinavian brand is doing it right in 2012.

Donk at J. Lindeberg, East London

03 June 2011, 00.01 | Posted in Art | No comments »

Donk 6 Willow St 540x360 Donk at J. Lindeberg, East London

Located in East London, the J. Lindeberg showroom is set to become host of a rotating series of murals by street artists. The first comes from Donk, who explores history and a sense of belonging  via his photographic, Xerox and colour wash wheatpaste. The image on the sidewall of the J.Lindeberg offices near Old Street depicts a giant Shire horse moving slowly forward whilst carrying a young boy on its back. The boy is in fact Donk’s son, who appears in many guises though out his work; here he represents the individual Londoner, as the shire horse represents London itself.
