We like Jack Purcell’s but we hate their insoles. So, you can imagine the quandary we’re in (yes, it is a quandary these problems matter) when a new version of the trainer comes out. Especially when they’re in a handsome burgundy leather. Actually, we might have been a tad dramatic a couple of sentences ago – we’d just put different insoles in them. (Crooked Tongues)

Sometimes we like seeing a twist – even if it just reminds us that we liked the original better. That’s definitely the case with this high top Jack Purcell. Interesting? yes. Everybody needs at least one solid canvas sneaker for the summer months and the Jack Purcell manages to sneak back into our wardrobe every year over and over again. For Summer 2010 Converse presents a nice dyed oxford version of the classic sneaker in navy. Simple, classic, easy to match with pretty much everything and therefore one of our summer sneakers of choice. These are now available from Tres Bien.

HS reports in on the latest works for the Converse 100th Anniversary celebration. This round we see a great Jack Purcell deisgned Thome Browne which features a suede liner, a colorful upper, and white toecap and sole. The pattern on the upper of the Purcell is none other than Thom Browne’s own trimming, as our friends at ACL point out.

The relationship between Converse and John Varvatos continues to result in quality releases. Six new Jack Purcells have dropped at The Reed Space, each focusing on material and subtle contrast.

Among the latest releases by Converse are these Jack Purcell Canvas styles. The mix of premium brown leather and beige or respectively khaki canvas makes a perfect match and an overall nice sneaker. It definitely has a more classic look and feel, almost like an upper class sneaker from along time ago.

The Converse Jack Purcell has celebrated a strong comeback in the last couple of months. Not only have we seen it in many high profile collaborations, also strong in-line models were released.
