Jack Spade Opens London Shop

A bit surprised they did not have a shop in London already…. WWD reports that Jack Spade will open their new London SOHO location at 83 Brewer Street at the end of March. As reported, brand director, Cuan Hanly sees the new London location as “the next logical step” for the brand after opening last autumn in Tokyo. The single floor Jack Spade shop in SOHO London will cater to both men and women.

Jack Spade for Theaster Gates – Armory Bag

09 March 2012, 19.45 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

jack spade theaster gates bag 01 Jack Spade for Theaster Gates Armory Bag
Here’s another limited edition offering for the day, this time from Jack Spade, who teamed up with artist and “cultural planner” Theaster Gates for a limited edition canvas bag dipped in black latex that celebrates the 2012 Armory Show. Proceeds from the sale of the tote go toward Gate’s Rebuild Foundation which turns old buildings nationwide into community art spaces.

We dig the charity and the color and material contrast on the bag, but do wish it didn’t look so much like something we got for donating to a charity (read: too much labeling). See how much better it is left alone? Though, to be fair, Gate’s acronym A.N.N.A.P. (Association of Named Negro American Potters) is pretty legit. A good idea and an even better cause. Pick one up here for $250 (probably a write-off).

Jack Spade Nestor Cigarette Scarf

Jack Spade Nestor Cigarette Scarf

Seasonally proper, the Jack Spade Nestor Cigarette scarf reminds me of the classic work sock pattern that lumberjacks enjoyed. Truth is, the scarf is more than proper for almost all. Buy it as a gift or enjoy it for yourself. Park & Bond has it.

Jack Spade Apparel for Spring/Summer 2012

We tried to not give too much away with our Jack Spade Spring/Summer 2012 preview, but people got very interested in the postcard motifs. We’ll share all the accessories tomorrow, but for the moment, let’s focus in on their apparel, which bring seasonally proper looks that almost all gents can work with. The full-zip sweater and striped Milton and hoodie do the trick. Good to see Jack Spade continuing with garment end of their collection.

For those that missed it, you can view the Jack Spade Autumn/Winter 2011 garment collection.

Jack Spade Coca-Cola 125th Birthday Collaboration

06 October 2011, 18.00 | Posted in Accessories | 1 comment »

Coca Cola x Jack Spade

Coca Cola follows up their  125th Anniversary presentation book Jack Spade Coca Cola 125th Birthday Collaboration with a capsule collection with New York’s Jack Spade. The collection features caps, t-shirts, coal bags, iPhone cases, and posters from Colby Poster Printing features some of the Coca-Cola’s famous taglines: “It’s The Real Thing”, “I’d Like To Buy The World A Coke” and 1989’s “You Can’t Beat The Feeling.”

The items are limited though: the prints are limited to 300 units while the caps are set to 150. Other items should be plentiful though. Cuan Hanly, VP/GM of Jack Spade had these thoughts on the collection: “Given both Jack Spade’s and Coca-Cola’s heritage in design, pop culture and whimsy, we feel the Jack Spade and Coca-Cola products truly represent this. After all, it’s the real thing…”

Jack Spade Industrial Canvas Dipped Coal Bag

Jack Spade delivers this fine charcoal color “coal” bag dipped in some rubber latex to raise the durability factor of the bag. Dipped or not, the color is the winner here. A heavy 22oz. tarp material is used on the exterior with all the special hits: rivets, wax wear handles… inside you’ll find the usual zipper hits. A beautiful bag for Autumn and beyond. Comes in under $200. Oh, there are a couple of other colorways. Trust us, charcoal is the way to go.
