More Jil Sander now as we give you their bag collection. The eagle-eyed among you would have spotted that the above bag uses the same pattern as one of the more memorable pieces from the AW09 runway show. This bag aside, the bags keep the general feeling of a person who means business. You couldn’t escape from the R word in last season’s reviews, but there’s no doubting that this collection was designed to be a staple in a person’s wardrobe rather than a folly.

Creative director Raf Simons has his fingers in many pies and it’s always amazing to see that he can keep all of his projects completely separate. While his own name label tends to be slightly youthful, the Jil Sander collection retains a mature dignity. These wallets are a world away from the crazier wallets we’ve seen lately and instead focus on form, quality and function – and it’s all the better for it.

If you’ve been paying any attention to women’s fashion, you’ll no doubt have heard of ‘colour blocking’, this jacket is a fine example of colour blocking at it’s finest. Blocking has been on the outskirts of men’s fashion for a while now, with plenty of designers getting it wrong. If there’s more pieces like this, we might just see this trend move to the forefront. News arrived last night of the re-emergence of Jil Sander into the fashion world. The designer has signed with Japan’s Uniqlo to oversee their main fashion ranges. This is her first work in the industry since 2004 after leaving her namesake label due to management issues with Prada. We’re excited to see the outcome and applaud Uniqlo’s continuing effort to collaborate with high fashion designers. (photo: ap)

As part of the Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2009 collection comes a series of utility belts. Each belt features numerous pouches, perfect to stow away anything that you absolutely need to have with you at all time. We are not big fans of waist bags, this might be a better solution – more stylish for sure. The Jil Sander utility belts come in white and in blue in different versions.

Jil Sander recently released their SS09 footwear and they look to play with classic shoe styles. One pair of classic dress shoes are available in taupe and are extremely bendable, making them more comfortable than rigid shoes. The other are a pair of wedge-like two tones that are available in light grey/off white and light grey/navy blue.

The vintage blazer craze is one that’s been gathering steam for a while but we can’t stand the musty smell and overpricing (considering that it’s essentially just second hand). This Jil Sander blazer will fill your casual blazer needs, although it looks like the sleeves will need shortening.
