Journal de Nîmes announce their eight issue. ‘Made in Europe’ contains interviews with Tim Little of British shoemakers Grenson, Maurizio Donadi of Levi’s XX, Gert Jonkers of Fantastic Man as well as articles on french marine brand Armor Lux and Dutch travel accessory brand Travelteq. That latest from Amsterdam’s finest. Journal de Nimes drops their seventh issue on the market. “The North American issue. Two of the many highlights of this issue are a portrait of Cone Denim and the New Haven Math Club photo-shoot for Gant Rugger. Another must-read is an extensive piece in which Tenue de Nîmes asked influencers like Andy Spade and Alain de Botton to tell us all about their personal North American icons. Tenue De Nimes have just dropped their latest issue of Journal de Nimes. This time they’re focusing on dutch products – which makes sense, them being based in the Netherlands – and, from what we’ve seen, it looks just as good as the last one.

Like always, the digital version is available to read here and if you’re in town you can pick up an issue from the store.

We don’t know how it all started but it appears more and more stores are releasing their own magazines. Tenue De Nimes are now on their fifth issue, which concentrates on British labels. Aside from the usual (Nigel Cabourn and Gloverall are to be expected at this point), there’s also a feature on Tender, the brand we featured yesterday, and a Q&A with the head designer of Levi’s XX range. The magazine is available at their stores and there’s also an online version you can read here.

In shop magazines and newspapers are an excellent way for shops and brands to present their take on the world. While you can visit a website and read blogs all day, holding in your hand printed matter allows for the writing, photography, and design to extend itself onto a hard format. Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nîmes shop delivers their fourth issue of Journal de Nîmes which a focus on France of all places. “We decided to put our spotlights on France for this issue because the southern European country has always been a great source of inspiration for all of our concepts and activities. In this fourth release we publish our favorite French Treasures, such as diptyque and Ladurée vs. Nike. It also features another hand-drawn city map so with that in your pocket”

We love the newsprint periodicals for various reasons. On the top of the list would be the process of printing on newsprint itself, but also with the finished presentation of the content itself. Amsterdam’s Journal de Nimes is another of these great periodicals. They have just released Nº3. “We enlisted the help of a number of contributors, such as Anneke Beerens, a cultural anthropologist with a specialty in fashion. For her four months Masters research, Anneke  went to Tokyo to study youth culture and group dynamics  in the underground fashion scene.” Much more to be found. Find them online.
