J.W.Anderson Autumn/Winter 2012 - Preview

J.W. Anderson previews their Autumn/Winter 2012 menswear collection over on mdx. Straight up, the “Born Sleepy” imagery is creeping me out with the rolled back eyes. As a kid I am pretty sure that the only thing that creeped me out in horror flicks was seeing the whites. Call me crazy, yes (see them in the galler) The J.W. Anderson collection was photographed by Alex Sainsbury and is indeed worth a look.

JW Anderson Salmon Shetland Cardigan

jwanderson cardigan 01 JW Anderson Salmon Shetland Cardigan

A nice Shetland number from JW Anderson’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. A heavier piece of knitwear for the upcoming chill over at Oki-ni, if you’ve already made a promise to yourself to never wear salmon then you’re missing out. That perfect meeting of pink and orange is what makes this piece. 100% wool, ribbed cuffs and hems with two waist pockets; this is the more ‘designed for comfort’ side of JW’s work. We like it.

JW Anderson for HERO Magazine T-Shirt

This looks like the first of many t-shirt collaborations coming from HERO Magazine for charity. They start it off with some JW Anderson action. “here’s a dip-dyed, limited edition t-shirt by JW ANDERSON. All profits from these collaborations go to the charity of the designer’s choice, this time it’s Mind.”

Selectism - J.W. Anderson Hand Knitted Jumper

J.W. Anderson bring a Aran knit sweater for Autumn 2010. “Aran knitting has been a tradition in Ireland for a very long time. Long before we knew anything about thermal dynamics, the women there were knitting these knobby pattern stitches into the sweaters they made for their families. We now know that trapped air spaces make for a war.” Proudly made in Ireland. Oki-ni carries it.

J.W. Anderson Circle Rings

Selectism - J.W. Anderson Circle Rings

J.W. Anderson drops a set of “circle” rings for the men looking to bring some statements to their knuckles (fingers, really). A variety of words are available but they all revolve around an emotion of a state of thought. While “love” and “hate” are common, “saints” are not. Choose whichever you feel describes you best. Oki-ni has them.

J.W. Anderson Autumn/Winter 2010 Runway Preview

24 February 2010, 19.30 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

Selectism - J.W. Anderson Autumn/Winter 2010 Runway Preview

Our friends at Oki-ni tested an interesting concept on zero day sale. In conjunction with J.W. Anderson’s Autumn/Winter 2010 runway show this morning in London, the shop secured a limited selection of seven pieces from the collection to be put on sale just as the runway show itself began. The boots, as worn by the models this morning, were a quick sellout, but other selections remain. This test from J.W. Anderson and Oki-ni seemingly reduces the time  between previews and sales. We’re interested to see where this concept goes in the future, especially with the emergence of live streaming from shows.
