Our bruvs over at Cool Hunting put together this time lapse film of Land Rover’s “Urban Jungle” buildout under the High Line in New York City. With the New York International Auto Show in the city, this gave the car maker space to show off their fleet. Keep your eyes open for vintage Rovers on the course.

German arms maker, Blaser, equips the Land Rover Defender to their needs with this new special edition, seen over on Autoblog. For $64,000, Blaser outfits the Defender with underbody skid plates, a power winch, snorkel intake (you know you need this), and much more. “It’s decked out in what’s called Keswich Green, but to us looks more like Panzer green.” The big win for hunters and gatherers is the custom armory built-in unit that can hold as many as five rifles and ammo.

Autoblog reports in from Paris Auto Week with a look at the forthcoming Range Rover Evoque. “Slated to be joined shortly by a five-door version, the compact Evoque fits right into the Land Rover mold design-wise, albeit with a surprising amount of surface jewelry for such a sleek two-box shape. From the protruding fog lamps to the horizontal matte chrome-trimmed hood intakes to the unique divots atop the wheel lip moldings and the somewhat fiddly taillamp lenses, there’s quite a bit to draw one’s eye. The overall impression one gets of the vehicle on the show floor is one of imposing width, a feeling that’s magnified when you realize that an individual of average height can see over the vehicle when standing next to it.”

Autoblog brings a vehicle mod to the Defender which indeed makes it better. Nerd out, Defender 90 fanatics. Land Rover is about to issue some limited edition Fire & Ice editions of the legendary model. Around 850 units will be produced for the global market. As Autoblog tells us, “The limited-production Fire & Ice editions come packed with all the features they could fit in the Defender: Recaro buckets, leather and Alcantara trim, diamond-turned alloys, color-coded head- and tail- lights, glass sunroof panel, running boards and more. The Fire edition comes in a special Vesuvius Orange metallic paint, the Ice edition in Alaska white, both offset by Santorini black accents.” Expect to pay around $95,000 for the Defenders.
