It is Vegas time again for the menswear world. As thousand of creative minds in the world of retail fashion gather together under the air-conditioned solace known as Las Vegas convention rooms, we’ll be running our usual show coverage from all locations througout the city.

One special note is our inclusion in the “Project 10″ showcase, happening on the PROJECT showfloor inside Mandalay Bay. Think of it is as a small curation. Selectism asked ten of our favorite up and coming brands to showcase their work under the “Project 10″ umbrella. Many of the brands have never shared their goods in this manner, and we hope that if you are planning to be in Las Vegas that you will spend some time with us.

Some big growth news from our very good friends at BPMW via DNR. "Slated to run Feb. 17 and 18 in a convention space in the Luxor hotel, the new Capsule show will be its third location, following its first Paris show this past summer and the original New York show that debuted in 2007. Capsule targets upscale, indie designers, premium brands and their boutique retail buyers. The show’s organizers, the BPMW showroom in New York, are aiming for 40 to 50 vendors for the kickoff Las Vegas show."

Congrats to the (capsule) family on their third locale.

The BPMW team that successfully re-focused menswear with their (capsule) shows are now setting their eyes on doing the same for footwear.

COMPASS: A New Direction is scheduled for July 28th and 29th in Las Vegas. Citing that “the footwear industry is dying for a change,” BPMW hopes to states that “Shoes are no longer just an accessory, they’re a culture. With all the lifestyle, the collectors and new collaborations infusing footwear with a new energy, it’s pretty evident that the industry isn’t what it used to be. Things are different and we’re about to prove it.”

Though the COMPASS brandlist is not yet finalizes, we expect more than 40 brands to participate. It looks like we’ll be adding another show to our normal coverage roster.
