We’ve decided to continue our penchant for seasonally bizarre picks, this time going with this Rick Owens leather jacket, which we shot during our trip down to LN-CC. It’s not much good for now (unless you’re in the UK, where the weather refuses to pick up) but it’s one to keep an eye out for. (LN-CC)

We’ve always thought Rick Ross’ most ridiculous  claim was that he wore Rick Owens. Yeah, saying you were a drug dealer who met Noriega was silly but, really, him in Rick Owens?  Next he’ll be saying he’s a small in Band of Outsiders. In our ongoing attempts to make everyone with an interest in menswear emigrate to Japan, here’s a look at this Julius leather jacket. The washed leather look isn’t for everyone but it’s more versatile than you’d think, so you shouldn’t be scared of it. Anyway, stop wasting time and get your proxy on. (Mindtrive)

We’ve always got time for a leather jacket. This isn’t an investment piece but then again, unless you’re planning on floating a piece of clothing on the stock market in a few years time, nothing is. It is a nice jacket though. And it’s from Japan, which automatically makes it better. Don’t ask why, it just is. (Mindtrive)

We’ve still got a soft spot for leather jackets, despite our continued neglect of them. It’s just that finding a good one can often cost as much as a good suit. This one is no different, costing $2,613. Yep, we didn’t mess up on the commas there. But if you can get over that (admittedly massive) hurdle, it does look gosh darn good. (Blue in Green)

Here’s one for the high rollers. And when we say high rollers, we mean high rollers. We only kinda like this jacket – it’s hard to fully endorse a jacket that’s nearly 3 grand that has a slightly camden-esque skull pattern on the back. Here’s a piece that’s perfect for any Jay-Z fans. A blazer front on a leather jacket sounds like a bad idea, but we’ll be dammed – it works. And the best thing about it is that it doesn’t look like that crazy. Everyone knows those ’statement’ menswear pieces that go out of style halfway within a season (remember those Prada studded brogues) but this is one that’ll last for a few good seasons. The only (rather large) stepping stone is the £889 pricetag. (Farfetch)

Balmain can do no wrong, it would seem. The “distressed” leather flight jacket has a slight worn in look that complements the thick wool (has to be shearling) that will keep you warm while you bomb over the denizens of your local niteclub this autumn. Go get what you deserve. Restir has them.

We’ve been neglecting the leather jacket. It’s not because we don’t love them, it’s just easy to forget about certain pieces in the current menswear climate. This Attachment number is right up our alley right now – it’s hooded, it’s calf leather (buttery soft) and it avoids any overworking. And, as you all know, it’s from Japan and therefore we love it.
