One of the things that impressed us most of Bottega Veneta in recent years was the addition of their home collection, which is always a real pleasure for the eye. The rule number one has always been, that one has a good pair of black leather shoes with leather sole in the closet. So far our choice this season falls onto this new Common Projects Officers Slip-On Oxford. 

Dressed up in the classic Oxford outfit, the shoe features a Italian waxed nappa leather upper and a leather sole. Just like all Common Project shoes, this one also features as the only branding the golden serial number on the back heel. Especially in the case of this Oxford, a nice touch, much more than on their sneakers. The fact that it is a slip-on, thus coming without laces, is also pretty interesting.

Gucci footwear for men is an understated endeavor. Take these two leather boots for the Fall 2008 market – one with a studded heel and antique brass and the second with the simple Gucci crest and leather sole They may look to approach the teir of Axl and company, but who’s stopping you from reaching your dreams? They are clearly thinking of you and your significant other with this one. Have to run to the grocery store and plan on packing heavy? Leather boots make a further stand on the Fall/Winter 08/09 season with these Jil Sander Workwear and Chelsea boots. The Workwear Boot features a 100% leather upper with rounded toe and woodblock insert in the heel. The Chelsea Boot come sin classic black with leather upper and a thick leather sole. Valet Magazine gives a look at one of the special edition items at this past weekend’s Opening Ceremony Olympic Marathon Shopping events. Looks like they have a favorite. Men.style tapped our friends at Blackbird Seattle for a spot in their Fall 2008 Buyers Guide. Congrats to them for being the tastemakers we have always known them to be. In particular, we could not not talking about their backpack pick; a gem from Robert Geller. "We have seen a lot of backpacks lately but Geller’s really stands out above the rest. The techy design manages to stay surprisingly subtle and most importantly, very functional." Find it now for 1607$ US. We’re not sure what the extra $7 are for but we assume fuel.

The looks is leather. No doubt about that. The application is a merge of classic Souther European sandals with a very West Coast Americana skateboard. I would fear strapping into this thing on the cobble streets of Europe, but I am sure someone is interested. Kick flipping the leather wrapped board could be disastrous. Made to order via GIFL. Just last week the Silas x Reebok NPC has been released. Just like the Reebok NPC, the Reebok Classic Leather that we present you here, is also part of the Silas 10th anniversary celebrations.

They kept it very simple with an upper made up of all black premium leathers, white mid sole and black outer sole. The Silas logo is embossed on the back heel. Pics via Unbar.

A new chair inspired by mid-century style (it’s got a bit of Florence Knoll’s version of the Barcelona chair about it), Brastilo’s tufted leather chair is an eye catcher. Leather cushions slide into a solid wood frame. The taper of the legs is also pretty alluring, and its hard to not like a thin set of ankles.
