Friday is loafer day… to some. Burberry delivers their “fringed” take on the tassel loafer over on Mr. Porter. They’re a clean brown leather, with black welt on a cream sole. The tassels are oversized and look rigid enough to take some wear. Truthfully, use your shoes and care for them as needed. They’ll last for ages or at least until the next trend comes rolling into your town.

Part of a broad series of Maine-made shoes under the “Rancourt by Jack Spade” banner, the “Hadley Loafer” features two-tone shell cordovan leather in an otherwise traditional penny loafer silhouette. Rancourt, family owned and operated, is also responsible for some of Mr. Mark McNairy’s moccasins. While Jack Spade has also worked up two boots and a camp moc, it is the penny that has our heart.

Rivieras works a special all black colorway of their Model 20°c which is a mixed canvas and open mesh loafer. The loafer will be on sales exclusively at “Le Noir et le Rouge” a Rivieras pop up shop from June – August  at Surface To Air’s  flagship store on 108 rue Vieille du Temple in  Paris.

The tassel loafer is still a marmite shoe for those new to the shoe world. We’ve heard it being called effeminate, which we’d say is utterly ridiculous. We’re fans of the ‘man makes the clothes’ theory and therefore we don’t buy the belief that any one piece of clothing can be effeminate. And, even if you did think these were effeminate, you can’t say they don’t look good. Well, you could say it but then you’d be wrong (or have an opinion that differs from ours). [Grenson]

On the bizarre off-chance that you haven’t checked ACL lately, he’s just gone to Italy to see how Gucci makes their loafers. As we have a weird fondness/hatred for Gucci loafers – thank you hip-hop lyrics for poisoning our minds – it’s interesting to see how the loafer was made. We wonder if there’s a cream – preferably of the custard variety – version they’ve been holding out on us?

We like a spring loafer here, especially when it’s a pair of shoes Snoop would be proud of. Tomorrowland made a custom Alden loafer that look as Italian as the day is sprezzatura. You’ll have to get your proxy on for this one, but these are a prime candidate to be worn with some washed denim. (Houyhnhnm)

We agree that sometimes these pages get filled with more varietals of loafers and shoes than most, but when they’re good, they’re good. These Italo-made loafers from Tod’s come in a deep red with a dominant deck outer sole. The color is outstanding though the price could be tough for some. Nevetheless, it’s a great looking shoe. Worth a shot. Barneys has them.

By definition, these can also be classified as clogs. Some Moncler loafers. Could be a good thing if you dont mind dropping about US$400 on a pair of them. Colorwise, they look great with the sole telling the full story. “Tan suede loafers from Moncler . Red, white and navy striped rubber sole. Fabric and leather lined.” Browns has them.
