Spring/Summer weather can be a bit unpredictable as some of you may be experiencing right now (Londoners, you hear me). While it’d be nice to be able to leave the house in a tee without a care in the world, it’s wise to think ahead and keep something relative lightweight and roll-up friendly on your person. We’ve thrown together a few options to help in the search. A selection that shouldn’t kick off a sweat but might offer some protection if it all goes pear shaped weather-wise.

Yep, Marni’s 100 piece chair collection for the Salone del Mobile in Milan, constructed by former inmates of Colombian prisons. This isn’t  your usual fancy designer seating situation, metal chairs covered in plastic and more at home on the porch, Marni employs its usual colour range for this smart but far from luxury collection. Ex-prisoners enrolled in rehabilitation programs, their efforts will be sold at the Marni store in Milan. (FN)

Ignore the upcoming H&M range.  Anything made for H&M is similar to Marni’s mainline in looks only. We’re a little confused by the collab as Marni’s calling card is their use of fabrics – this jacket’s made of alpaca and leather – and high quality construction. Anyway, enough scrooge-esque moaning from us, this is a lovely coat.

You might want to get your hands on Marni now. In a few months time you’ll be able to say, ‘I liked Marni before they collab’ed with H&M’. You can also say you’re not into polyblends, which the H&M collaboration will almost certainly consist of.

Anyway, true gentleman don’t queue overnight for clothes – a made up gentleman’s rule, but it’ll probably make its way into one of those lists. Mr Porter has them.

High-end retail collaborations continue to be the highlight of the the shopping experience for the big box stores. H&M today announced their latest collaboration in the world of fashion with Italy’s Marni fashion house. Delivering on March 8, 2012 for Spring/Summer 2012, the Marni for H&M collection features a re-boot of Marni’s original prints for men and women, including accessories – all at H&M’s controlled price points.

Marni’s founder and creative director, Consuelo Castiglioni, tells us, “I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements.” Expect much of that this March when the collection drops to the masses. Expect the usual excitement from this one.

You know what? We’re really getting into Marni. We wouldn’t go as far as calling ourselves ‘Marni men’ or anything similarly silly but, after overdosing on mid-range brands, it’s time for us to go a little high end. And Marni does well done, wearable high end clothes – the kind of stuff even the most scared-to-try-anything-new conservative blogger could pull off. (Hunting and Collecting)

It looks like it’s finally official: backpacks are the new Tricker’s. Everyone’s doing one and everyone’s trying one up each other. This Marni leather backpack is a lambskin number and looks big enough to double up as an overnight bag. You see? Two uses in one – definitely makes it worth the money. (Matches)

We’re usually fans of the crewneck, but having a couple of V-necks never hurt anybody. Our main issue with Marni is that as it’s such a short name, it’s very easily rhymeable. Which can only mean one thing – it’s only a matter of time before Rick Ross starts rapping about it. We’d suggest that buying a calm, sensible piece like this will help you sidestep the inevitable rapper onslaught, but it’s not like Rozay wears any of the designers he raps about. (Matches)

As they mention, Marni, “predictably uses brown/mustard tones and focuses mainly on the warmer wear, suited to the season of course. The range seems to have a good balance, no item is too overpowering, so you could customise each piece with other items from the collection.”
