If you like skating and clothes, this video – made in collaboration with Icon brand – is nirvana. And, unlike that Gant video doing the rounds, it’s something you’ll actually want to watch to the end.

We never tire of bringing this up but back when we first posted Martine Rose here we were accused of jumping the shark. Of course, those were dark days – everyone was talking about how the 60s were the golden era of clothing and how anyone who wore anything other than oxford shirts were terrorists. The last point may have been made up, but you get our gist – that we’ve always liked Martine Rose’s shirts and this is no different. And despite what you’ve read from your latest conservative blogger you can wear this shirt just as much as a navy sportcoat. (Daniel Jenkins)

Something a bit different that pulls from the urban aesthetic. Martine Rose and CAT Footwear unveil their Autumn/Winter 2011 work boots, which debuted during he A/W 2011 show at LFW MAN. “Mixing canvas, leather and wool, the Cat Footwear X Martine Rose boot features a nylon webbing ankle strap, back strap and loop, and contrasting storm welt stitching, in three colorways.” Interesting takes…

We reported on Martine Rose’s upcoming collaboration with Timberland a while back, but here’s a look at the jacket itself. It’s pretty much what we expected (that’s a good thing) with Martine putting her signature touches on this Timberland piece. It was all organised with the help of Wallpaper, who’ve been following the collaboration since its inception. It’s also a nice sporty alternative to the varsity, which has gone from ‘nice piece’ to ‘played out’ in record time.

Here’s one for those who aren’t afraid of a little colour (and that should be most of you, it’s 2010 for gawd’s sake). This Martine Rose shirt is another piece we like for it’s double duty qualities. Well, double duty might be an overstatement, but you can wear it as either  a shirt or an overshirt/light jacket – and in this harsh economic climate, you need some kind of nonsense excuse to explain your excess spending.  (Daniel Jenkins)

Wallpaper, the magazine with the best taste in websites, have been working on some collaborations. They’ve teamed Martine Rose up with Timberland to produce a piece of outerwear for the Spring/Summer 2011 season. No pictures yet, but above is an informative video about the process.

There’s nowt wrong with a little crazy sometimes. This shirt could (and will) be viewed as over the top by some, but we’re firm believers in taking a few sartorial chances. ‘Style not fashion’ is a phrase we see bandied about often, but why choose when you can have both? Wear this with a toned down outfit and you’ll look just as stylish as the man who runs through Albam with a platinum card. And if you’re not feeling polkadotty, you can always wear a nice grey cardigan or crew neck over the top – then it’ll just look like a navy shirt with a contrast collar. (Oki-Ni)
